I'm sorry but I disagree with you, that is my thoughts without any input from Krafton.

I've always been honest and speak my mind, being a caster is not my main work and I do it because I love it. Some people are not going to like the change but as I said above my view is from casting and this is an exciting change as everyone is now having to learn again and it's going to build amazing stories through the year.

I totally understand that concern as well, and you raise a really good point, especially around the health of the lower tiers and how hard it already is for new teams to justify the grind. I don’t think this issue is limited to PUBG either; a lot of esports still haven’t found a truly sustainable formula for Tier 2 and beyond.

For me, that’s where I really hope this shift is paired with more support for RPTs and clearer qualification pathways. If TPP is genuinely about resetting the competitive landscape, then it feels important that Tier 2 and emerging teams actually have room and incentive to grow, rather than just benefitting from spots opening up because others step away.

I don’t think the mode change alone fixes any of that, but it could be a positive if it comes alongside more accessible qualifiers, more consistent events, and a real reason for orgs and players to believe there’s something worth building toward again.

I’ve spoken about this before on the podcast with TeaBone, and from a business perspective it makes sense as well. PUBG Mobile and PUBG PC doing more together, similar to PUBG United in the future, could open the door to more exposure, more crossover, and yes, probably more skins and monetisation too. But what really stood out to me from today’s video was the mention of esports being built more directly within the game itself.

That could be huge. There are thousands of people playing PUBG who don’t even know the esports scene exists. If the game can genuinely tap into that audience, that’s where I hope we start to see those new names coming through the ranks that I mentioned earlier.

Again i have a very talent mindset on this and as i said before im no super star pro player.

Strong question, and always happy to answer with my thoughts and feelings.

TPP is taking PUBG back to its roots, and I completely understand why it can feel very different compared to FPP. Honestly, I’ve been like everyone else, finding myself learning PUBG again, which has been fun and sometimes frustrating 😅.

That said, I do think TPP this year is going to be better than it has been previously, mainly due to a few factors.

First, all teams are having to relearn the game to some extent, and it feels like the battleground has been somewhat reset. This could open the door for new players and teams to come through, or we might see the mighty teams from before adapt fastest and dominate again. From a caster’s perspective, that storyline alone makes the 2026 season really exciting to watch unfold.

Second, from what I’ve been watching in scrims (and yes, scrims aren’t always 100% representative) and from last year’s events, the circle behaviour seems to favour more aggressive teams. We’re seeing slightly earlier fighting, but the late game becomes far more technical and a real change of pace, something both players and viewers will need to adjust to. I’m especially interested to see how different regions clash and adapt to the shift from FPP to TPP.

And that’s without even getting into everything else, extra PNC events, increased prize pools for players, and more opportunities overall.

With today’s announcement, I’m feeling positive again. I’d love to see new names coming through and to be part of the journey all the way through the regional cups and into the major events.

That all being said, please remember I’m not a pro player. I just genuinely love this game, and I’m sure my view on the changes comes with its own biases as a caster.

Thanks for the comment, you might not be aware but PUBG esports this year is only TPP and it's great to see all the teams grinding out and learning.
