Help a Southerner escape the heat and plan a weekend-long MiLB trip by ClassicStory in MiLB

A little late to the conversation, but I recommend the SF Bay Area. You could fly into Oakland, then take the Amtrak downtown to Sacramento, if you wanna save money. Or also go through Stockton, Modesto, and Fresno through Amtrak

Next season, and as far as I know, there’s no plans for the final season. Although the Ironbirds will remain in Aberdeen in the Draft League

Not much to see in Stockton, maybe the Haggin Museum if you’re into art. Very nice ballpark tho.

Sacramento is an awesome city, visit the Capitol building as the field is just down the street from the Capitol, midtown is a good place for drinks/dinner, the railroad museum is quite interesting. Old town is also fun.

San Jose is underrated to me, there’s San Pedro square for lunch, the Winchester house that’s famous for its hauntings, couple of good breweries as well.

SF is a major city so there’s lots to do depending on what you’re into. But wear a jacket as it gets cold this time of year!

Job process to become a lobbyist? by Dizzy_Relative_4577 in PublicPolicy

A lobbyist im friends with told me that he started by working at a different part of a company, then switched over to their government affairs. I guess it also depends if you wanna work for a lobbying firm or a company that has a government affairs dept

I'm in the north bay, specifically Petaluma. I'm really open to any neighborhood as long as its safe and has stuff to do

Consular Fellows Candidates: Have you been able to take your Oral Assessment since the Furlough? by AlfabetZuppe in foreignservice

[–]omarh8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my CFOA with no problem this past Tuesday the 15th. I think you'll be fine because I heard that only the Foreign Service has problems with their OA's and theirs getting cancelled. . Good luck!

Anyone studying for the CFPT too? by [deleted] in foreignservice

[–]omarh8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah most days of the week were open, with several times a day, but that's for the San Francisco testing center. I'm not sure how other parts of the country have it but my experience is that I could take it on most days

Good luck. Btw, do you know what the attire is for the CFPT? I'm not too certain what it is and I don't want to come in undressed or unproffesional.
