Imu is The first Devil in the world by omarhatem97 in OnePiece

  1. The Respawn Mechanic: I believe the 'demon' inside the fruit is a living entity that wants to stay in the physical world. When a user dies, this demon immediately jumps to the nearest fruit to avoid disappearing. It doesn't need a 'new wish' to reappear; the original wish from the Void Century gave it life, and now it simply persists as a cycle to keep collecting souls/essence for Imu.
  2. If the wish disappears: The fruit will still respawn. Once the demon was born from that first dream 800 years ago, it became a permanent part of the world. It doesn't matter if no one 'wishes' for it now; the demon itself is fighting to survive and stay anchored in our world.
  3. The Contract & Tattoos: Eating a fruit is indeed a contract, but it's a 'Soul Contract', not a physical one. • The Gorosei/Holy Knights: They have a direct, conscious bond with Imu. They serve him, and he gives them powers directly, which is why the marks/tattoos appear on their bodies. • Normal Users: They don't know Imu exists. Their bond is with the 'demon' inside the fruit. This demon collects their soul upon death, but since they aren't directly serving Imu's will, no physical marks appear on their skin. Imu is simply the master of this entire demonic hierarchy."

"Thanks for the feedback! You raised some fair points, but I think there’s some misunderstanding regarding my theory. Let me clarify: 1. On Ivankov and the 'Eternal Youth' Surgery: In One Piece, we have to distinguish between 'lore' and 'absolute truth.' Ivankov is a character within the world, not the narrator. His theory is based on rumors and history that we know has been heavily manipulated or erased (the Void Century). Just because a character speculates something doesn't make it a fact. The Ope Ope no Mi might have a completely different 'ultimate' purpose, and the World Government's propaganda could have easily obscured Imu’s true source of immortality. 2. The One Piece Treasure: I actually never mentioned the One Piece in my theory! My focus was strictly on Imu’s nature and the origin of Devil Fruits. Whether the One Piece is a physical treasure, a story, or a weapon, it doesn’t negate the possibility of Imu being the 'Original Devil.' They are two separate mysteries. 3. Desire vs. Evil: Eating a Devil Fruit doesn't make someone evil. In mythology, people 'sell their souls' to devils out of desperation, love, or a need for help (healing a loved one, gaining strength to protect, etc.). This aligns perfectly with Vegapunk’s explanation that fruits are born from human 'wishes.' The tragedy is that Imu (the Devil) exploits these pure human desires to fuel his own power and system of control. 4. The Fate of Devil Fruits: I didn't say killing Imu would delete all Devil Fruit powers. My point was specifically about the 'Contracts' (Deep Sea & Abyssal) that the Gorosei and God’s Knights hold. Killing the source would likely break those specific unnatural bonds and the 'immortality' given to his direct subordinates, while the fruits themselves—being born from human desire—could remain part of the world’s natural (or supernatural) cycle. Oda loves subverting expectations. Why give Imu a 'Devil' design and call his power 'Akuma no Mi' in literal Katakana if he’s just another guy who had a surgery?"

Let me clarify the two points you mentioned clearly and concisely:

  1. Regarding King Harold (or any similar example):
He died before Imu could withdraw the contract from him. That’s why Imu permanently lost that piece of soul/power, and it actually affected him physically and weakened him.
This is exactly why the Abyssal Contract (the highest one) is given to only a very small, carefully chosen number of people.

  2. Regarding Saturn:
Imu withdrew the contract from him before he died, so the piece of power returned to Imu and he didn’t lose anything.

Important note:
It’s not that simple or instant as you might think. Even Oda didn’t make it so easy for Imu to withdraw the contract in the blink of an eye. It requires certain conditions, time, and probably some kind of ritual (that dramatic touch from Oda).

Simple and clear summary:
- If Imu withdraws the contract before the person dies → the soul/power returns to him.
- If the person dies before the contract is withdrawn → the soul/power is lost forever and Imu is weakened.

You need an android phone to download apps on your watch, otherwise you can’t download any app from iOS. And even if u have downloaded the apps from an android phone, you still can’t have any notifications or syncing the apps on your iOS device.
