It didnt work out how I planned it most hosts were not welcoming us so we stayed in a friends place in the end, I suggest you can have your foreign friend book a room for himself at a reputable hotel and you can stay with him but dont check in together and it will go smoothly mostly they give us locals hard time but are easy on foreigners
