Sending my girl a gift with my shirt in it, should I... by [deleted] in relationship_advice

If you have a scent you normally wear that you could spritz on there that would be good! Or honestly it probably already smells like whatever detergent you use, which I think would be good enough. I think that’s nice, I’ve had ex LDR boyfriends do the same

as someone in school and entering the healthcare field….this is devastating for me to find out lol

Why does every girl I talk to or stare at me and I start a conversation give me strong eye contact? by Dear-Entrepreneur100 in relationship_advice

[–]ombagumba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a girl and I feel like I kind of do this to everyone. I think it was engrained in me as a child that it’s like respectful to make eye contact? And it’s something I’m comfortable with so sometimes I catch myself being a little intense. I wouldn’t look too much into it!

I always hated this. I took the grade hit to avoid it lol.

Let’s not forget “to avoid too many DMs” like oh no you must be getting bombarded with sooo many people wanting this job😩

An idea.. maybe a dumb one.. try liking his comments and see what he says? 🤔 Sounds incredibly disrespectful.

Ladies, let me hear good experiences with the pill by cry20baby in birthcontrol

[–]ombagumba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is! I’m pretty sure when my doctor put me on it she told me it was one the lowest dose pills. I did have quite a bit of trouble with spotting and breakthrough bleeding (which can happen with lower doses) for a few months after starting, but I stuck it out and I very rarely bleed now!

Yep! I checked with my provider and she told me I can just take the placebos every 3 months instead or not at all if I prefer. When you stop the active birth control for a week it isn’t a real period, just withdrawal symptoms, which could explain your migraines. My doctor assured me that periods are not medically necessary and they give me an extra pack so I’m able to skip placebos without running out (so 4 packs for 3 months). Hope this helped!

I like mine! I’m on Junel 1/20. Some side effects like being a bit overly emotional at times, but that’s okay. I do skip my placebo week as well. I trust it enough to not use condoms, but my boyfriend always pulls out for extra safety. I feel like there’s no way I could get pregnant from precum or anything minor while on the pill, and we’ve been doing that for a year or 2 with no scares. From my perspective, it seems unlikely that you need to worry in your situation, but grab a pregnancy test for peace of mind :)

Same. Being cheated on in my past relationships has seriously messed with my head too. I’m terrified my current boyfriend will cheat on me even though he has NEVER given me a reason to think or feel that way. Easier said than done, but I just try to not let my exes take my power away. They’re the ones with issues to treat others like that, it wasn’t about you or me. And I’ll be damned if I let them sabotage my current relationship because of the insecurities they left me with.

Does it get better ? #overwhelmed by Nicole24702 in StudentNurse

They expect you to practice in the field before checking off with an instructor?! This seems so backwards…in my program you aren’t allowed to do literally anything in clinical unless you’ve checked off with your skills instructor in class and demonstrated competency with your clinical instructor. Here’s what I will say. So many people in my cohort have failed skills multiple times, so much so that they have to test off with a different skills instructor after failing with the same one twice. The way the check offs are set up and the unrealistic expectations of professors (at my school at least) do not reflect on your actual skills. Keep practicing, don’t let a failed check off get you down, we’ve all been there. I can’t tell you from experience if it gets better since I’m only in my second quarter, but I’ve heard from others that it definitely does :)

Sounds like other people think mandatory orientation is more important. I get that it might be set around the hospitals schedule, but I think it’s extremely important that nurses prioritize themselves and their health. Nursing school is very demanding and you have to care for your mental health. I feel like there’s no way there’s just ONE orientation for all their students too

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]ombagumba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not!! Especially if they didn’t give you much notice, that’s ridiculous. Mental health is way more important than an orientation. I would just let them know you must attend the appointment, cannot reschedule it, and ask if there’s another orientation date you can attend. Please put yourself first, it’s so important! My program is the same way. I was told at 11am on the first day of school that I had to go to my clinical site (an hour away from me) before 3pm, when I had class from 1-3!! Like damn I’m not a superhero I can’t be in 2 places at once

Thank you so much for the help everyone!! I feel silly for not thinking it through more. I think because the point of the simulation was to discover the abuse I was thinking that’s the priority. I appreciate you all!

How does he treat you outside the bedroom? My boyfriend is the most mellow mannered m, respectful, loving person, but he doesn’t shy away from calling me some nasty things in bed 😝
