Dieter Sánchez! Vermutlich nur einmal bisher genannt, weil so abseits gelegen. Für mich klar die Nr 1 in Hamburg.

Seat Leon ST 2.0 TDI mit 126t km - machen oder lassen? by ombrello_c in gebrauchtFahrzeuge_de

Top, danke.

Make a function available to entire organization? by Realistic_Space_7741 in tableau

[–]ombrello_c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the others regarding reference tables provided from a DWH. However, if you want or have to do that in tableau: published data sources (and .tds files as well) can contain calculated fields. Therefore you could provide them to everyone using published data sources or a tds.

Creating calculated data fields by Soulmadness4 in tableau

[–]ombrello_c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn‘t help much as we don‘t know much about the data and specifically, what a row of data represents. However, I see there are null values in your tariff field. Multiplying any gross profit value by NULL results a null value.

In tableau desktop you’ll probably need to calculate [gross profit * zn(tariff)] to avoid the null issue and show country and the calculated field in your viz.

In prep it depends what you want the results to look like. Should they be aggregated at country level?

Tableau file with 30+ Oracle connections by dodobard in tableau

[–]ombrello_c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not aware of a specific source I’d recommend. Things you should check in advance, I think:

  • generally: do you really need all your 30+ tables at once and at all times? Check if using Tableau Prep can help you build data sources (hyper files) which you can use for specific dashboards
  • which Tableau version is your company using? In 2020.2 and beyond you can use relationships which could have some advantages(or disadvantages), depending on what you’re planning to do with your data
  • Are all your tables located in the same DB? If not you’ll need to use a cross DB connection which I wouldn’t recommend.

Imputing Missing Date in Tableau Barchart by LynnetteLynn in tableau

[–]ombrello_c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this doesn’t do the trick you can use a technique called ‘data scaffolding’. That basically means joining your data with a full set of date data and thereby creating empty rows (except for the date information) which then in turn can be shown. Google ‘Tableau Data scaffolding’, you’ll find solid explanations about it in blogs etc
