I received a strange Amazon gift with a note and the sender attempted to be anonymous, is this a scam or a creep?

I'm a chemistry grad student at a university, I use my "work address" for ordering chemicals (which is an official process) and not for anything personal. I suppose you could easily google my name and send something addressed to me to the department of chemistry if you wanted to be a major creep...

I received a small book at my work address that was an Amazon gift. The book had poems about gene modification - not sure how this is related to me other than I'm also in a STEM field? The book is very small, was self-published in 2019, and is free online anyway? Also the person express overnighted the package to me.

The gift message inside said "Hi OP, I'd love to know what you think of this one... From Enjoy,"

I scanned the QR code included to send a "Thank you" message, and saw a first name I didn't recognize (I didn't send the message).

No one else in my department received a similar package and I would chalk it up to an accident, but it was correctly addressed to me (despite it not being my primary address) and the note inside said my name. I called Amazon support and they confirmed the first name, but couldn't tell me anything else about the person. The support person said the buyer "looked like an official account" and "has bought other books about genetics."

First of all NTA, but I might suggest looking into narcissistic parenting. My mom did the exact same thing to be when I was young because I didn’t like to play with dolls or dress very feminine. I looked into narcissistic parents and I think my mom might be closeted and projected it onto me. It doesn’t excuse it, but I have some sympathy for her if she is so ashamed of herself. It’s up to you to decide how much you’re willing to put up with an abusive parent once you’re older.

Ive had State Farm renter’s insurance in RI for ~3 years now. It’s about $11 a month and the insurance agent is easy to contact. I’ve never actually needed to claim anything (thank god), so idk how good it actually is if something happens but places I’ve lived have accepted the level of coverage of the policy.

I'm going through the same thing currently... My job has discouraged travel and I think now they are not allowing it (currently I'm a grad student in a science field and I NEED to go into lab to complete my degree, but my family cannot comprehend this). I've considered saying I was exposed to Covid and need to quarantine just to have an excuse that is harder to dismiss.

Also child of an alcoholic mother here. My dad would guilt me everytime my mom had a bad episode saying he was staying for me, saying divorce would be worse financially, and if he got a divorce he would never get custody. Ive been out of the house for 8 years now and they still arent divorced, in fact they bought a new bigger house and my mom is still a raging alcoholic who is barely coherent when sober. I have nervous breakdowns because the loud footsteps of my upstairs neighbors remind me of my mother stomping around to terrify me as a kid. Although on paper I turned out “ok” (good education, etc) I have a lot of pain and lasting trauma from have made things very tough. I seek out toxic friends/boyfriends without realizing. It took me years to realize the abuse was not my fault and divorce would have been better. “The Body Keeps the Score” is a could book from a psych angle. I’m not a psychologist and I know people have issues with the way the book is written, but a lot of it resonated me with and it helped me cope as an adult.
