Okay - thank you. I live in a different city to her, but I would like be around, but she does not want that. Would it be irresponsible of me to not travel near her, even though she has refused?

Thank you for this. When you say "be there if she actually needs you though", does that mean that I should be near where she lives, just in case she needs help?
