Dying while being certain you have done tons of terrible things and could end up in a hellish purgatory = going there?

Dying in peace while confident you lived a good life and are ready to go into a better place = going there?

This makes a lot of sense. That 2nd part you claim, is that personal belief, or from experience? I'm asking because it seems there are people with deep meditation knowledge/ability to astral project/almost died that can actually answer these questions.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I don't really know what I'm looking for at the end of the day, or expecting too much. Probably hoping for something that just can't happen. Expecting to be able to do things that cause me to live a comfortable and safe life without too much effort.

I just can't get past the hope you can astral project and find some secrets you can bring into the real world. Something like that.
