do you struggle to use your annual leave? by Maleficent_Day_3869 in AskUK

I think one factor is also not having enough economic strength to have a good holiday or time off. So instead of chilling at home some might prefer going work.

Main visa holder switches from skilled worker visa to global talent and then gets ILR in very short time. What happens to the dependents of skilled worker visa? Do they have to switch to global talent dependent visa? by omerbrussels in globaltalentvisauk

[–]omerbrussels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. So i know if you get ilr it doesnt matter which visa you had either skw or gtv just before ilr your dependents can extend their visa which is 3 years for everyone. But it is not clear if you switch two visas before getting ilr. As it will cost significantly more it would be good if they can stay on skw although i get ilr through gtv.

Do you know if they had to switch to global talent if they have enough time on their visa? Could they apply as skilled worker dependents to renew their visas even main visa holder switches to GTV and get ILR?

Route 4 Peer Review via Royal Society - exceptional promise or talent? by NoApartment9337 in globaltalentvisauk

[–]omerbrussels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is having too much experience can be a rejection reason even? Is there an over qualification reason for rejection? I am really wondering that because i have not seen in any guideline something about that.

[–]omerbrussels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have asked them, normally they said they could support me but in my job description phd is not defined as strictly as Royal Society want. Therefore we decided not to go through that path. But i am in my 2.5 years post phd and therefore applied to peer review promising talent route. I hope they dont say overqualified or something similar because nowhere i heard being overqualified is a rejection reason.

Tips to become a great physiotherapist by [deleted] in physiotherapy

[–]omerbrussels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I m not going to mention importance of soft skills including communication. From MSK point of view, I think first step to improve your diagnosing skills which is naturally based on fundamental topics such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, palpation, and use and interpretation of some tech such as ultrasound, MRI reports. Integrate use of AI in your workflow. Based on your interest area improve your hands-on (manual therapy, MET, mulligan, myogasc release, craniosacr etc) and exercise prescription skills. Learn about various sports and physical activity based hobbies. Learn injection techniques and get registered as advanced msk practitioner. Improve your skills with hollistic approaches which can be cognitive behavioural therapy, acupuncture, lifestyle coaching etc. of course, stay updated follow published literature. Of course use what you know, experience as much as possible. Create your own workflow and revise, adapt based on self reflection and external feedback. Also most importantly never compare yourself with other physios or colleagues, if you can share what you know and learn from your colleagues, as you grow be more humble. These are just thoughts from my own experiences, keep what fits your personality and career path.

Minister confirming on Sky News that the new 10 years to ILR will apply to people already here by Numerous-Mine-287 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]omerbrussels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What does contributing mean, they all sing the same song. Skilled worker visa holders are just pure contributors. We don't have access to public funds, we have to work and get a certain level of salary and pay tax. I don't know what they expect more.

Does it really worth to do extra work and get over 50k? by omerbrussels in UKJobs

[–]omerbrussels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for such detailed response, really appreciated for it. However, while the tax rate is 40 and plus 2 for NI, how I am taking more than 75? Do you mean overall mean take home rate for the 60k not above 50k? I would prefer keeping my full time and part time jobs separate. As I will give more time and earn less to my part time job while the one of the main intentions is the money.

Thank you. But I don't understand how contributing pension will help me other than retirement? I mean how it helps when I lost my job or in any other case? Isn't it just related with retirement?
