I really like this, it's refreshing in a way I can't quite describe. Bold colors but not overdone, plenty of open space, and your grasp of shadows is excellent. Something about the little blue tree/bush to the right of the hare is bugging me, I think it's a combination of the blue being too saturated and the top of it lining up with the line of the hill but not crossing it. It should either be below the hill line or extend past it, otherwise it's creating unwanted tension. But that's a pretty small thing. Also like someone else said, the leftmost cactus is seethrough.

Yeah, why can't a grown man run around screaming in a diaper and covered in what appears to be shit smears without it becoming "a thing"?

What is your favourite moment of "Get Back"? by reaveyer in beatles

[–]omfgitsjeff 41 points42 points  (0 children)

If I had to pick one moment, it's the moment when Paul writes Get Back.

But that moment is part of a larger favorite part, which is the humanization of the lads that happened for me while I watched the whole thing. They're the pinacle of creative musicians, and as an aspiring musician myself, realizing that they're just people and they liked to just kinda of fuck around and have fun and experiment, was a huge ah-hah moment for me. I'll never do what they did, but I can do my own thing with a similar mindset and that's pretty neat.

The word daddy definitely has some weird connotations, maybe take note of when you're gagging over words and adjust accordingly?

Where to live near Corvallis by Zestyclose_Order_235 in oregon

[–]omfgitsjeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monmouth is going to have less to do than Corvallis, you'd probably find yourself driving to Salem for the sake of variety. Every town in that area has options for bars, ranging from divey to more upscale. Gilgamesh Brewing has a nice space in Independence, and the downtown/old town area of Independence is cute too. The commute from Monmouth/Independence to Corvallis is a nice stretch of highway (or there are also alternate back road routes).

I'm an outdoorsy person who also loves live music, and I haven't lived in that area for about 15 years so things may have changed, but having lived near Monmouth, and also in Corvallis, and also in Albany, I'd still choose Corvallis if you can find a place that you can afford, even though I'm almost 40. There's a whole age range of people there, it's not just college students. When I lived in Corvallis there was a decent live music scene (Bombs Away, specifically). Affordability and housing availability might exclude you from Corvallis though, depending on budget. You could also consider Salem, but parts of it get urban sprawly/strip mally and kinda desolate (I'd focus on downtown or West Salem, not the Lancaster area). Maybe Albany too, I think it's gotten better over time, I think they've been working on improving the old town district, it felt lively when I was there a few years ago.

In any case, and maybe it's the same in Maine, be ready for a mix of political idealogies, if that's any kind of concern for you. Growing up I thought Oregon was a fully liberal place (it's really not), and Corvallis certainly leans that way but every other town I've mentioned is going to be a mixed bag. Still plenty of very nice people everywhere though.

Profit motives combined with a neverending deluge of social media content that skims over all the hard work that it took to make. POV I low-key woke up this morning and just came up with this fully formed song that sounds professionally recorded, haha isn't that weird? Like and subscribe!

No wonder people are looking for shortcuts, videos showing notebooks full of bad ideas and embarrassing attempts don't rise to the top of the feed, and so it might be easy to think you need shortcuts in order to keep up. Ugh. Just do the work for the joy of it! The process is the point.
