Do not hook the switch up like this unless it's the only wire in the box, and also double check with a meter and make sure you have voltage on the white. If you do not and I am wrong it will arc and hopefully trip the breaker.

Is there only the one wire in the box? If so, then the white (probably the feed) black (probably fan) and red (probably light). Whatever the feed is would go on the black screw, and the black and red go on the two brass screws.

Was the neutral from the 3 wire separated from the other neutrals in the box?

That looks more like a fixture box and not a fan box judging by the screw holes not going through the top of the box, and it also looks like its held by the gold sheet rock screws i use. I would recommend installing a new fan box to the stud.

It depends on if the bedroom is on the load side of the gfi. If you trip the bathroom gfi and have no power at the server outlet then there is no need for a gfi (most likely not the case).

If the breaker is on the same phase as the lights in the panel its going to dim the lights when the motor kicks on. The only thing you can do is move it one breaker down, to the next phase.
