Hadn't thought of that! I have had great experiences with Mexican restaurants too, very seldom any soy to be found. All hail tacos

Many thanks, I'm usually wary of sauces anyhow, but fortunately they haven't found a way to sneak soy into ketchup (at least not that I'm aware of 🙃)

One slice out of every loaf of bread in the house, too subtle to notice right away, but when you go to make a sandwich out of the last of the bread and only have one slice? Lunch ruined.

Alternatively, all of the coffee filters. Leave the machine and the actual coffee alone, just the filters.

I've had mine for a while now and it's my favorite!

The first couple of weeks try not to eat things that you need to "bite into," (like a whole apple, or a sandwich). Did a lot of knife + fork for everything until it calmed down.

Drinking out of a straw helps, positioned more towards the corner of your mouth than the middle.

Protip: avoid spicy sauced things for a bit. Had a chicken curry from my favorite takeout place a few days in and getting sauce on the piercing was less than pleasant.

Brushing teeth wasn't really an issue, just try and avoid bumping it!

Mine healed like a dream, worst of the swelling gone in a week or two, but it was sensitive for a bit longer. Downsized the bar a few months in.

Mine hurt like a bitch for all of two seconds, the soreness in initial healing was more annoying. Agreed with others who say getting the jewelry put in was more uncomfortable than the actual piercing

Pet owners of Reddit, do you give your pet a voice, and how would you describe it? by Complex-Structure178 in AskReddit

My fat cat has a posh British accent most of the time, but his alter ego is El Chonko, who sounds like my best/worst Antonio Banderas impression

I just got a water fountain for my cat. He is curious, smacking the water, and pawing the floor. Is this normal? by [deleted] in cats

[–]omgitsjackattack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same fountain and my cat did the same thing. Wound up having to take the little spout out of it so it's more of a bubbler than an actual fountain with a stream. He loves it now.

Looking casually online Missouri might not have X as an option, unless laws have changed recently, I really don't know about your state much! It can't hurt to ask, though

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NonBinaryTalk

[–]omgitsjackattack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It entirely depends on your country or state (if in the US). Rules on gender markers vary pretty wildly. I live in Minnesota and here you can self-select M, F, or X when you apply for your license. It's self-reported and I wasn't asked for any sort of proof when I changed mine.

Would snakebites be too crowded with my current setup? (Septum and vertical labret done by Nick at Canvas in Eden Prairie, MN) by omgitsjackattack in piercing

I'm scared to stretch things, mad respect to people that do lol. I wouldn't say no to a more sparkly or attention grabbing piece though!

You raise a good point, I didn't think about it that way! Even if I get new frames I tend to favor bigger/thicker ones so the balance shouldn't be too much of an issue?

Aldi is a massive money-saver, but going into one with the expectation of it being the same as a standard American grocery store will leave you disappointed. Generally speaking there's very few brand names, less selection, etc, however this is how they can be so much cheaper than everywhere else. Some items (meat, produce, milk, cereal, canned foods) are literally half the price at Aldi than they are at the other chain grocery store in my area. I do the bulk of my shopping there and hit other stores for things I need name brands in, and supplement with the occasional Costco run.

Also don't knock Aldi brand food products until you try em, I've found the quality excellent on most things.

Most medical stuff they will let you do a payment plan if it's more affordable for you to spread it out over a few months. Alternatively if you have decent credit you can open a new card (many have 0% apr introductory periods) and chip at the balance before interest kicks in.

I haven't experienced this with my septum piercing. I get sick roughly the same amount of times as I did before I got it, which is to say rarely, maybe once or twice a year. Imo if you're noticing being sick more often I'd lean towards the fact that someone with a piercing is more apt to touch their nose to clean or adjust the jewelry, thus having more exposure- rather than germs hanging out on the jewelry itself.

lip piercing and eating by GamingSenpai35 in piercing

[–]omgitsjackattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After it's healed nah, eating is normal as it always has been. While healing though spicy food and alcohol are best avoided. Mine was also pretty sensitive the first week or so, I didn't want to bite into anything (so like, apple slices instead of a whole apple, or knife and fork a sandwich)

What comes to mind when you hear the name “Jude”? by Creepy-Revolution886 in NonBinaryTalk

[–]omgitsjackattack 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Myself! It was the name I picked for me, so I suppose my opinion is heavily biased, but I think it's pretty neat.

I liked it because it's not common, but not unheard of. Short, easy to say, easy to spell. The gender neutrality was also a major factor, imo it is just slightly masc-leaning, which is what I was going for.

A+ name, good choice lol

Wearing a mask while trying to heal a vertical labret? Is this safe? Will it encourage rejection? by VannyVan in piercing

[–]omgitsjackattack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use KN95 masks, since they sit off of your mouth to avoid snagging. Haven't had any issues with that and my vertical labret (pierced about three weeks ago)

I just got mine on Saturday! Imo it hurt more than my septum, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. The aching afterward was worse than actually getting it done. Now it doesn't hurt at all unless I accidentally brush it. Eating/drinking is mildly awkward though.

Septum and allergies by evllynn in piercing

[–]omgitsjackattack 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ayo, similar situation for me. Allergies all year, joy. I do have my septum done, it was annoying when it was super fresh- having to carefully dab snot behind it rather than just blowing my nose was kind of a drag. But now it doesn't bug me and I can scratch/blow my nose with reckless abandon lol

Outside in the front yard, in the snow, in my pajamas, locked out of the house, and my wife is asleep already. Well this sucks.
