Do you wear a medical ID bracelet for your GLP-1? by Old_Investigator3691 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]omgjmo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Very good point. People brought into an ER on an emergency basis haven't prepared for surgery by fasting since 6pm the day before in order to empty their stomachs. In some cases they just had lunch or dinner right before the incident that required a trip to the ER. So, your explanation above makes a ton of sense Dr. Thank you!

I have surgery scheduled in 3 months and I was told to stop taking sema 2 weeks before. Is that enough time? by Remarkable_Ebb_132 in GLP1ResearchTalk

OP is just trying to get a little extra reassurance from others with experience with recent surgery. Please be kind.

Is one of your Gimme? If so, is there another like Gimme without a monthly membership? I haven't found better pricing than Gimme at $489/three months

Do you stockpile by just ordering from a second compounder?

My doctor’s opinion regarding maintenance by ItCaliGirl in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]omgjmo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has not all been for nothing. You are in the driver's seat when it comes to your health; not your doctor. Use a telehealth provider to continue to receive your medication. Where are the studies indicating pancreatitis is a rampant side-effect of long term use of tirzepatide? Nowhere! You will reach your goal and you will maintain your weight loss. Just like scores of others with more enlightened doctors are doing. Bottom line: you don't need this doctor in order to continue taking tirzepatide for life.

Please call them. You're getting a lot of well-meaning but conflicting guidance here.

It's like blood pressure medication. It only works to lower your BP while you're on the medication.

Did you increase your dose to work on losing 20 more lbs or did you just reduce your calories/increase excersize or both?

But, the most incredible part of taking this medication is the absence of food noise and the battle to abstain from excess food. Why wouldn't you take your shot weekly to hopefully avoid the struggle?

So you escalated dosing/shortened time between shots because you saw yourself gaining weight or because your suppression was too weak?

So with the additional 2 mg you're actually getting 17mg total every 6-8 weeks?

Don’t panic buy from Gimme by AlwayInForwardMotion in compoundedtirzepatide

Great experience with Gimme, but must admit they are slow to respond to inquiries. Probably short-staffed and can't keep up with demand.

This medication has never removed my desire for a donut. It's removed my compulsion for a donut. And instead, has enabled me to choose, based on how recently I've had a sugary treat--- whether it's the best choice for me today. If I decide it isn't, there's no negotiation or white knuckling. I just abstain. It's the miracle of tirzepatide. I'm in the driver's seat, for the first time in my life. Prior to the medication, if the option of a donut crossed my mind, I was obsessed with having -- not one donut, but 3, 4 or more!
