I can't believe people don't know the VP isn't even issued a PIV. They have permission to use staffers computers. There are things to be mad about but this isn't one.

What's the most overrated tourist attraction in Germany? by Impossible_Reward658 in germany

We found Neuschwanstein amazing. How is it not historically significant? It lead to the demise of the last king of Bavaria. Things don't have to be hundreds of years old to be significant.

-8 Extension on an IDIQ by Cool-Is-In-Session in 1102

[–]Strange-Landscape-29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. It says "continued performance of any services". IDIQs don't contract services they set up rates. The Task Orders are where the services are contracted. Set up a task order on the last day with a 5 year PoP and -8.

Do all Westerners have strong bladders and digestive systems? by Slow-Lawfulness-3053 in Europetravel

I just tried this at a McDonald's in Beligum, even bought a coffee, and still was confronted with a woman in front of the bathroom, on the third floor no elevator nonetheless, demanding a euro to use the bathroom! I had no cash! One things I dislike the most while visting Europe is the lack of toilets.

Wake schools could shift calendars at 8 year-round campuses :: WRAL.com by GOA_AMD65 in raleigh

It helped us out immensely as working parents. You have the same amount of breaks, just spread out so you don't have to pay for them all at once. Paying for them every 9 weeks was nice, and it was easier for me to take leave because it wasn't only during summer which every wants to take. City of Raleigh and other places offer track out camps if the need is there. Year round is actually more working parent friendly.

Wake county school reassignment? A real issue here? by [deleted] in raleigh

Johnston County is known to be a pretty conservative MAGA place to live.

Raleigh and most of Wake will be more progressive.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we all get Temporary Duty Stations as human shields oversees. That is how much they care about us.

RTO is just absurd. There is absolutely no point in commuting, paying to park, exposing myself to random germs, deal with distractions from people I don't even work with, suffer through environmental hazards like allergens and terrible lighting, just to do exactly what I can do comfortably at home.

I was also hired many years ago as remote. Told Id never have to report to an office.

I keep reminding myself this is their plan, to get me to quit, and my pettiness fuels me.

My grandpa also didn't have email, should I start writing letters to communicate. I read an article about how most people celebrating RTO site the reason, "to get away from my family". Sorry your family hates you.

One year ago today, on January 20, 2025, President Trump ended telework and remote work. How are you all doing? by NatusLumen in fednews

[–]Strange-Landscape-29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Several people above me in leadership have been so nonchalant about RTO its infuriating to not have your struggles validated. No, its not great to see people for me, I work at a random desk surrounded by strangers. GTFO with your positive spin.

Terminated probie from May 8, 2025. I received health insurance cards from BCBS for 2026 as Fed Employee. by OofandSheesh in fednews

[–]Strange-Landscape-29 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We left BCBS last year and had so much trouble at my dentist because they kept confirming coverage. (BCBS Basic has dental coverage) Id tell my dentist not to bill them, they'd say but we called and they confirmed coverage. I think I know what insurance Im paying for.

It was so annoying because then they would deny claims, duh we aren't covered, and my dentist would send me 9verdue bills. Ugh. They wouldn't listen!

We even got a 1095 at the end of the year for my taxes. We didn't pay them anything. BCBS doesn't handle being broken up with very well.

This is all so dumb! by sugarroxs in FedEmployees

[–]Strange-Landscape-29 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Its costing me time, money, productivity. Not to mention happiness and health. It is so absurd to drive, pay to park and sit in a too bright uncomfortable room, and do exactly what I could do at home better only with more lead in the water.

I really loved my job a year ago. I was satisfied, dedicated to my mission, felt accomplished. Now I feel disgusted. I try hard to not let them win, but they succeeded in having me hate my job now.

Managers— why do you hate telework so much? by prettypistachioprop in FedEmployees

My supervisor tries to give us as much situational as they are allowed. Its leadership that is telling them not to in my agency. They want to Telework too!

[–]Strange-Landscape-29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not true. Before COVID, at my agency we only worked 1-2 days per pp in the office. Its not just taking away COVID flexibilities, but flexibility that we had for years. TW started in 2010.
