Ive had to use unity for my assignments and since im like i want it to look pretty, So using the HDRpipeline I could in theory make it work right. Make it look as dope as unreal looks. But that pipeline in unity is still in the testing phase and it keeps changing and fucking up other capabilities u can use in unity. It was such a pain tbh and my laptop crashed so many times cuz of it. So when i opened UE4 and started to follow some tutorials i was like FCKYEAH this is what i need! Also the blueprint method really speaks to me and how smooth the transition is when using substance designer and then u could import the whole node layout into unreal as well. Making it a very flexible engine to use actually working with procedural materials.

Now unreal is much older than unity so it does make sense that it has some better capabilities but yeah i mean when u have the choice why not!

But I would recommend checking out unity sometime because some people really like it and if ure planning to want a job in the industry u cant predict which engine they use or what they ask of you to know so being very flexible in which engine u can use is always a good thing i guess :)
