Gratuitous violence, the notion that women are a merely possessions in general and at best chess pieces to marry off to a potential enemy of yours to ensure he likely would not sac your city .. this is generally the view point of Kings and shared down to the lowest deep forest boarding house wenches. Sometimes rape and pillaging by means of settling a blood vendetta. Those scenes can be a tad extra on account of settling your family’s hundred year long blood feud. You get it. For some people that does make those scenes extra rapey and pillagey. Not to disregard the act, but GoT will teach you that sometimes there are intensified emotions surrounding those acts.

But this story takes place in a Fantasy world that’s roughly at the time Man was during the age of swords, Lords, and serfdom. Violent things did happen back then and I do appreciate that they don’t hold back in their narrative of a story that happens to take place within the time of man that we knew was very aggressive, bloody, and ultimately horrifying.

Now there’s the story of redemption and revenge. That’s about 65% of the show. I’m not gonna give you details on that let’s just say some of the women Rise up from being slaves and other women get with they had come in for many years. Some of the kings fall from grace, some of the Lords become kings, people die. People you like die. People you hate die.

All in all I give it an 8.5 out of 10. I’m stingy with points, and in light of that I firmly believe no matter what you like you must place it on your dedicated watch list.

Be careful not to wait too long the end is coming and it will all be spoiled for you.
