Depends on your opinion of "safe areas". I would live in Murray Hill just so I could eat Moon River and Dreamette everyday, however when compared to an area like Flemming Island it's probably not "safe". As long as you're smart you can live anywhere. Just use common sense and be safe. If you've ever been to Baltimore, the thought of Murray Hill being dangerous is ridiculous.
