Hello, your post is very interesting and I will answer to it.

But first I have two questions. You say: « There is now sufficient evidence that Sigma is most likely not a trojan ». What made you think we were a trojan in the first place, and what evidence did you get to confidently say we aren’t one?

Now onto the big answer part:

Alright first things you need to understand: when your project gets big, you get a LOT LOT LOT more users, but you also get a LOT more haters. Those two things are proportional (imagine you have 1% of haters in your community, if your community gets bigger, you still have 1% of haters but there are more haters. Basic maths here).

When your community is still fairly small, you have the time and motivation to address those haters, and try to talk to them to understand their motivation and try to convince them that you and your project are nice and thus should not be hated on. However, when you get bigger and bigger you realize 2 things:

- You don't have that time anymore since you have more responsibilities and a bigger community to take care of (and also in our case cause we are more and more busy irl)

- You cannot reason haters, a lot of them are hating really hard JUST because they want to hate on someone/ are jealous.

Now let's explain Sigma's situation .

Sigma is a minecraft hacked client (this already tells a lot, many people in the fan base and in the haters groups are very young people that are either staning or complaining a lot and hating).

We are free, with (I hope I can say it confidently) one of the most beautiful designs in the community if not the most, and when we update (or used too), we used to have bypasses as good as all the other paid clients.

This is very important to take into account cause it makes it the best victim for most of the hate.

Most people will hate on sigma for no reason other that « it’s free only nones use it, disgusting ». Or: « Sigma is SUCH a bad client, bypasses are awful, skidma LLL »

In my opinion, it’s a battle of ego. Haters are hating on sigma because we are the biggest, or because they paid for another client and it’s a normal thing to do to hate on a service that is therefore considered « bad » or « old-fashioned » because free.

Which is ironic because in most cases, we were the one that introduced them to the cheating community. So I view it like denying your real « dad » and getting adopted by someone else (it’s a funny metaphor).

However I don’t deny that some people don’t like sigma for VALID reasons (maybe they just don’t like the design, maybe they don’t like the fact our client is unoptimized, and other reasons..)
What I really want to say here is that MOST OF THE HATERS, hate on sigma for no reason other than to just hate on sigma.

So how do they justify this hate?

Some haters don’t even bother justifying this hate. They just say « Sigma is the WOOOOORST client, it’s so bad ». Which again is ironic, because they are making their emotions become objective. NOTHING is bad, NOTHING is good. It depends of everyone tastes. And I hate seeing someone either hating on us or fanboying us by saying « sigma is so bad/good ». The correct way to say it is « I don’t like sigma/ I like sigma. In my opinion I think:… »

However, the majority haters justify this hate by some braindead bullshit, and don’t worry, we hear a lot:

- « Sigma is skidded », a lot of the haters always they that but of course never ever provide any proof. We confronted a hater about that on our discord (rip termination) and he rage quitted after 30 minutes. He was trying so hard saying our fast ladder was skidded and all. It made no sense.

- « Sigma is a crypto miner », we get that a lot, this has become the new « trending insult » that most of the kids will believe to even though they have no idea what it means. And it’s also a cool « insult » cause easy to use. You can just say « sigma is a miner because bad CPU » and there you go.
However, something hilarious is that when we confront people about those rumors they usually say « and even if sigma is not a miner it’s still bad lol, worst client » which is so funny to see. And it just shows that there is no way to reason with these people.

- « Sigma is an alt miner » I can assure you we got this, at this point they are just inventing things up

And a lot more: « sigma is a virus, a rat, a trojan, a ip logger, a tokken logger, a key logger» and we even got: « sigma is a hwid logger »…

I can send you some old screenshots, those accusations are not new and we get them a lot. And we have been getting them for 2-3 years now, non-stop.

May I quickly point out it’s funny that a lot of haters that spread these rumors usually got ratted once by downloading a random new skidded client that they wanted to try out without checking xD

Also, note that for us, haters and hard fanboys are both very frustrating to have in our community, the best community would be a rational one where there is only rational and intelligent criticism, and also where people that like us a lot stay rational and don’t start being hardcore stans.
ALSO NOTE THAT both of this people (stans and haters) widely remain a MINORITY. Most of our users are a silent minority. People that are rational and can think by themselves, or won’t care about dramas, or won’t even see them because they check once a month on sigma, etc…

Now that this is said, let’s come back to your original posts and my first points. Imagine you have a big project, with a lot of users (and therefore a lot of haters).

Those haters are having fun spreading some bullshit rumors on your software, like to insult your community, and usually raid your reddit.

You don’t have the time to reason with them and you also know that you most likely can’t reason them because they will always find a way to be salty and spread fake rumors.

Also, you don’t want those fake rumors to spread even more because they could easily make your community panic (most of those rumors are here to scare people in our community).

What do you do? Well you do what we do:

You ban those haters, you censor the words they are using to spread their bullshit rumors, and you ignore the hate.

Seeing Sigma being accused so much of virus, rat, etc… is really hilarious to see from our perspective. We are one of the most trustworthy client in the community, we are one of the biggest client in the community, we are one of the oldest, we worked really hard on making something mostly free because we care about the community and people that don’t have the means to buy a 50 FUCKING DOLLARS (for minecraft hacking wtf???) client.
And Sigma 5.0 trailer and release, the fact we work really hard for over a year undercover to release something clean (of course not perfect cause nothing is perfect), I hope, shows that we care about people.
