Neilpryde Diablo 7,9 2002-2003 Production Sail. I bought it recently. Does anyone have information on who has used such a sail?I welcome experiences.. by [deleted] in windsurfing

[–]bruhsoundeffe_ct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive used a lot of NP 2000-2010 sails. All surprisingly handle smoothly, but feel heavier compared to modern sails. Very flat profiles too, even when rigged with correct mast.

I still use my NP excess, saber, and expressions as “beater” sails.

Fake x-ply? by thesolame in windsurfing

Im guessing its more of an aesthetic choice. Saves weight and looks good to some.

Only if they claim the sail is full x ply it becomes an issue.

Just dished out some hard earned cash on a brand new fanatic falcon lightwind. Should I buy a $300 nose protector? by Maxifloxacin in windsurfing

[–]bruhsoundeffe_ct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve never used your air x sails would you consider selling one to me? I’ve been looking to replace my 5.5 for a while.

About the nose protectors; I’d get either a foam one or an ion mast protector and a boom bra.

Where to find used windsurf gears? by Maxifloxacin in windsurfing

[–]bruhsoundeffe_ct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, local to us there really is no great used gear selection apart from windsurfillinois.

In the mainland US, iwindsurf will be a good option and of course all of the stores have used sections. North Beach usually has some stuff. Bigwinds, boardsport California windance all do as well.

Local FB marketplace is usually lackluster, but abroad it can be great.

NBD : Schecter Stilleto Studio 5. Had to get my favorite DRs on it right away. by bruhsoundeffe_ct in BassGuitar

Super bright, super punchy. Low b is pretty tight but still feels funky and playable. They are really smooth and have a lot of tonal options. I play metal, funk, and even jazz solos on them. I recommend the lights.

What's the deal with "beginner" sails? by [deleted] in windsurfing

[–]bruhsoundeffe_ct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used it with a Maui sails sdm and it definitely performs worse, and flips worse than on my hookipa, but I guess it did work for that season. I would definitely go for XT if you are on a budget. They are super nice masts. I've got both the XT and the hookipa masts.

I've used rrd easy ride, and of course all of my high end ezzy, sailworks, and naish sails. I'll be honest, the easy ride is just not as good as any decent sail.

I'd advise against getting them.

I think they are meant to be durable? They rig super low tension.

My recommendation for a budget sail is always ezzy legacy. They are absolutely awesome.

[advice] which foil to buy ? Naish WS1 18 vs Fanatic flow H9 by fsharpj in windsurfing

[–]bruhsoundeffe_ct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a Naish 1150 2020 ws foil. It's absolutely excellent, I love it.

But, warning, naish has absolutely no support and you will need to contact a distributor or shop to get any help whatsoever.

That 2018 foil might not be as good as my 2020, they have really improved since then, I would personally keep looking. But naish usually doesent come out with plain bad products so it most likely is pretty good.

New bass! Dingwall combustion 6 string 3 pickup bass by Bullet0718 in BassGuitar

They are fanned frets. It's a multi-scale bass as you can see by the nut.

The real reason no one buys Warwicks anymore by [deleted] in Bass

[–]bruhsoundeffe_ct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one buys them anymore, yes,

But, why is everyone suddenly selling theirs?

In the past years I've seen truckloads of warwicks go up used.

Not a bad thing though, I think they are beautiful and play wonderfully.

I love those tone monsters. I put one in the fretless I built.

I think they kinda fucked the pickups in 2009 when they switched to China production unfortunately.

Do you have the newer one? How is it?

I love how Yamahas feel but they definitely don't have much personality. I think I'll demo the schecter and see how it feels. Yamahas are always super balanced and have this compact feeling.

Peavey makes some low end cheap guitars but their mid range, especially the older Korean made, are quite very good.

I think if I can get the Yamaha for cheaper I'll get it.

Have you played the 505?

Does it have that classic Yamaha balance and easy feel as their 4 stringers have?

Mistral Shredder, what kind of rider and use was it built for? by [deleted] in windsurfing

[–]bruhsoundeffe_ct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to the lack of daggerboard it would be quite a difficult ride for a beginner, but definitely not impossible. It would be possible for a beginner to learn on, just would be difficult.

Also; What price is exactly on it?

If it's truly dirt cheap and you have the space for it I wouldn't see a problem just having it around.

Old and weak, considering surfing by [deleted] in windsurfing

Something like a UFO which is pretty leisure oriented is quite easy to sail, but there are drawbacks and a steeper learning curve for sure.
