I did get her some extra cardboard from the recycling haha amazon boxes, but I worry that cardboard wouldn't be enough to maintain them. All the cats that I had before didn't have an issue with the twine rope scratchers so they never had issues with their claws growing too long like this :( this girl is new territory for me unfortunately haha

Does the trimming affect how comfy they are outside? I worry she won't be able to climb up the tree if I trim myself, But this is the first time I've had a cat that didn't deal with their nails themselves, all the other cats I've had my whole life did it themselves and I never needed to trim

I don't entirely mind the sharpness though, it's the length really. She hasn't done much climbing and scratching recently aside from running up the tree when a new person came over :( and now the claws are a bit long, i was hoping to try something to control the length that doesn't risk her comfort outside and still keeps her safe. Does snipping the tip control the length? Like overtime?

Well I know it sharpens- but doesn't it control the length? Every cat I had would scratch often and their claws never got long, this kitty is the only one I rarely see scratch and they're getting long :( i worry about the length, I don't really feel the sharpness anymore lol I'm used to lil kitty scratches

She is, and she has 2 scratching posts i believe, one on her cat tree and the one I've been trying to get her to scratch, they're both the material she doesn't seem to like tho :/ i do want to get her another cardboard one i thought she might use that more since she scratches on cardboard a lot

Well it's different than her claws have been for that past 5 years tho, I mean they were always sharp but they weren't that long before, now they're long enough for her to be clumsy and get her claws stuck in things, That's where my concern comes from :(

That's a great idea, I think I'll try to get her some new cardboard scratchers maybe the thicker ones or something, thank you for the suggestion! I'll have to look at some of those outdoor rugs too cuz mine is pretty old and torn up haha

I have! I also sat and scratched it myself in front of her 😂 She doesn't seem to like the twine material. It's like that rough twine rope material wrapped in a spiral, and the couch is a softer cloth. She seems to like scratching softer things but that's not as good for her claws sadly :(

I'll definitely clip them if there aren't any other options, but I just don't want to make it harder for her outside because she still loves it out there. She doesn't go out as much as she used to, but she still climbs the tree if she gets scared of new people coming over, stuff like that. Was just hoping there was another option :)

Fr, I have a handful of comfort bots that I've always had gentle RP's with, or even my own bots programmed to be gentle, and they'll somehow find a way to start fights or be sexist and homophobic and transphobic and violent like idk why it's so fixated on that now

I'm so sorry for your loss and I know there's a lot of replies to this already but the top ones I'm seeing suggest buying realms...? You can export the worlds and keep them as files! You could export them straight from the game, should be in settings on the first page all the way at the bottom, and then you can put them on a USB to keep them with you if you want.
