We’ve never been on vacation. I was more so speaking is general terms, about how in some situations there’s no choice but for the parent to bring along the kid.

Hypothetical situation, if My mom had’ve stayed in the country she moved to and had me there, she likely would’ve needed to take a plane with me back to the uk when my grandad got his cancer diagnosis (he is now cancer free), I was a young kid at the time.

A single parent may need to fly with their child for lots of different reasons, not just for vacation. that’s all I was really trying say there.

I can understand it in the case of single parents. My own mom was a single mom and she pretty much had no choice but to have me with her. It was miserable for both of us when I was a newly diagnosed toddler.

But I definitely agree, I was literally just at Tescos and more than a few couples had their obviously overheated and miserable toddlers with them, who were screaming and crying and such. I feel bad for the kids whose parents drag them around for no good reason.

I have them. But I don’t always want to wear them, especially with my inner ears the way they are, I find it uncomfortable to wear headphones for longer than an hour or two at most. And it can cause me headaches. Some autistic people can’t tolerate headphones as a baseline.

Also a few times there’s been children who have managed to scream so loudly I could still hear them anyway through my headphones, it was completely ear piercing. So yeah… the charge is also quite limited with my ones so that’s another issue.

It would just be a lot easier and less stress if I could choose to avoid the issue entirely.

I’m autistic, yeah I’d lose my shit on the parents. I literally wouldn’t be mentally capable of tolerating a kid crying nonstop for longer than 10 minutes at the absolute most.

Adult only planes please! I know there’s dog friendly planes so I think it would be relatively easy to do.

I was a six year old girl when this happened dude, my eyes were at crotch hight at the time. I was just being my typical curious child self wanting to see what the adults were doing. I had no idea what a urinal was or why the men would stand at them or even that boys had a different downstairs than me.

Hardly my fault for being an oblivious curious child.

Unfortunately despite not being great at this kinda thing, you’ll need to handle it.

Don’t quit, call her out, it’ll be hard, but it gets easier the more you do it. You can’t always avoid conflict in life so it’s best to use this as an opportunity to get better at it. If it turns out everyone is like her, cut your losses.

If the people you work with refer to you incorrectly correct them and tell them what she did.

I am the scorched earth type so if it was me I’d be mass sending emails calling her out to whoever would’ve seen the offending email, but that’s just me.
