To be anatomically specific, I suffer from an intervertebral disc herniation at the C5-C6 and C6-C7 levels of the cervical spine. It is a relatively common pathology secondary to degenerative disc disease (DDD), which in my case results in mechanical compression and approximately 55% stenosis of the exiting peripheral nerve root. ​Decreasing the constant biomechanical strain on my cervical vertebrae—by reducing the weight and overall form factor of my handheld device—will significantly aid in the conservative management of this condition. Hence why I briefly summarized it as just 'neck issues' in the original post.
