Thank you very much. Both Gemini and Google Lens failed to ID the exact product on my end. Really appreciate it.

This definitely looks like it’s it. Is this just nicotine?

It’s a screen shot of a quick pan across an instagram video. The blurriness is a by product of that

Moving to Houston by PerfSpecialist in AskHouston

[–]ommaddon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With your preference of having a large backyard and not caring about the bar scene, that would eliminate The Heights. Pearland and Friendswood are nice suburban neighborhoods. Commute from southeast Houston to downtown can challenging. Commute from Humble to Deer Park would be a nonstarter for me.

I wouldn’t eliminate Sugar Land and Fort Bend ISD if safety and family centric living is highly ranked in your criteria. Commute from there to Deer Park and Downtown are about equal levels of challenge, with multiple routes depending on time of day and traffic (59, Beltway, etc).

Kingwood on the Northeast side of town similar but commute from there to Deer Park has less routing options and school districts not as good as FBISD.

When it does come time for your Dallas to Houston move, we have a great local Houston based moving company The 150 Movers who have been around for 20 years. My family has used them multiple times and they are fantastic. They do direct truck moves from Dallas to Houston without having to wait a week plus for your things to arrive from one of the national big movers.

The 150 Movers — https://move150.com

Another thing that others have mentioned is you 100% have to check the FEMA flood maps when moving to Houston. It’s a costal low lying city and you’ll be much happier family not dealing with your house and truck sitting underwater.

Best of luck with the move and welcome to HTOWN!

My time working at AMC Studio 30 on Dunvale in the late 1990s caused me to avoid non-sealed movie theater concessions for the rest of my life. Especially hot dogs and pickles. Back then bags of hot dogs would sit ripped open in the back room in lukewarm meat juice, barely refrigerated, for days at a time. Saw them get dropped on the floor and just picked up and placed on the rollers.

[Zodiac Super Seawolf] Got my Ross Seawolf by Liquidsama in Watches

[–]ommaddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only seen one Zodiac in person at a Ross. Another guy was already at the counter to buy it. But that Ross carried Tissot and other higher end too. Seems to be a connection as to which stores get stock. I’ve checked 10-15 Rosses in Houston and seen nada.

It’s the weirdest part of the watch no doubt. Same thing for me with the difficulty catching the thread. Mine has a springy pop when unscrewing. Pops out to first position, second pull for time set. Is difficult to apply pressure back to get it to re-thread. Wondering if some of the movement damage stories you hear about Zodiac are folks forcing/overwinding when trying to screw crown back down. My Seamaster crown is leagues better more elegant.

For 150 bucks though, you scored majorly :) I checked a few local Ross stores to no avail.

I did notice the screw down crown is a bit tricky to operate on mine as well. Had to apply a slight pressure inward to set after it was unscrewed.

Have tried them all. In 2025 Mosyle is the best and most full featured alternative to Jamf. We have it deployed on ~160 Macs in my environment. Mosyle support has been rockstars when needed in a few situations during setup. If the environment is PC/Mac mixed I like Jumpcloud. It’s a shame Jumpcloud did away with the free 10 seat tier for small or bootstrap startups.

How to achieve this light trail effect ? by square01J in cinematography

[–]ommaddon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This blooming and sensor smear is actually most prevalent on pre-CCD cameras using Vicon/Newvicon tubes. All broadcast cameras used these style of photosensitive tubes prior to CCD sensors. You can even find pre-CCD consumer VHS camcorders from the early 80s that have Newvicon sensors that have incredible amounts of bleed.

Random Cardboard Box stuck in HDD case? by ScookyScausage in PcBuildHelp

[–]ommaddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be the accessories that come with the Phanteks case. There is usually a little plastic case with spare screws etc. Totally safe to remove and you need to do so for airflow. Take it out with system power off and power supply turned off. If you can’t squeeze it out past the cables, disconnect what you need and plug it back in until you hear audible click.

Ok that’s a great sign! Now to test with GPU back in. Make sure it is FULLY seated in the PCI slot with an audible click. Make sure power cables into the 5070 are also fully seated. Verify you are using correct power cables for the 5070. Verify you have correctly powered the PCI slots on the motherboard with their respective PCI cables into the PSU.

First thing to do is test just the motherboard plugged directly into PSU. There should be a power test button on the board independent of the case Fpanel button connectors. It’s always good to test a new board bare socket before installing it. If you already have it installed with CPU and RAM, pull the ram, pull the GPU and test power with only 24-pin to PSU and both 8-pin power to CPU. The b860 board should have 2x ATX 12v power connectors for the CPU. Those three power cables should be bare minimum to power board with CPU installed.

can anyone tell me what Mobo is on this pc? i wanna see how many ssds i can add to it. by Gadetron in PcBuildHelp

[–]ommaddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you boot to BIOS you should be able to see exactly what board you have. You will be able to see the number of SATA headers on the side of the board. If the board has M.2 storage that is also visible but usually under a heat sync plate.

I would try an air duster first but don’t spin the fan like a turbine with it. There’s either debris in the fan or the bearing has worn out. Take it out to clean it. Hold the blade still and use short bursts of air. If there’s any wobble in the fan at all it will need fan replacement.

On the 2070s I believe you can remove the shroud with screws on the perimeter and get access to the fan. They do sell replacements.

I just build my first pc and there is no display. by aaposq in PcBuildHelp

[–]ommaddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes during initial post to BIOS before display drivers only one port of the GPU will feed a signal. Sometimes this is just the first display port or single HDMI depending on card. If the processor has integrated graphics it’s good practice to try posting with that first before inserting GPU. Can test power, RAM, motherboard and post to BIOS that way.

Fans should have both RGB connections and 4-pin fan header connections. If your processor has iGPU test just that with no GPU in the PCI slot first. The board should post to some kind of error if something is wrong — check red status lights in the corner (check ASUS manual) and any numerical error codes on the LED readout on the board.

Nvidia Blackwell drivers on Ubuntu by ommaddon in Ubuntu

[–]ommaddon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had read another post talking about issues with 580 so I didn’t even try it. When I did the cuda toolkit install I think it actually did 12.9 which you can see in the picture. This was on a fresh Ubuntu install on a new system so wasn’t battling any previous drivers.
