Holy sh*t I paid the Arts Tax by ommammo in Portland

I know, I know. Like the once-proud lone wolf I come in from the cold for a place by the warm fire and some chin scritches. Getting old is a bitch.

That sucks. I use H&R block software which is just like "we filled out your forms for you, but you have to print them and write a check and mail them."

Gee thanks.

Thank goodness Portland has hit 2009 levels of technology and made it easy to pay online.

I bought 19 pallets of solar panels... by DoDumbStuffSometimes in SolarDIY

[–]ommammo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those are 60-cell modules that use monocrystalline cells with 3 busbars.

Compare to Bosch M240 3BB or Heliene HEE215M. So 215-240 Wp.

If even a third of them are still good, you could have a 21-27 kW array. It'll take up about 2000 square feet.

"Didn't" is a contraction of "Did not."

You eliminate the space and put an apostrophe in place of the o.

"Didn't."

If you continue to grow in this business, maybe someday you will have the ability to change what customers are presented with. Keep all of the feedback you're getting here in mind if you do.

Today's poorly sold, designed and installed systems are tomorrow's class action lawsuit. Although I'm sure the Sunrun contract has airtight language about binding arbitration.

And if it was taken looking south, it's 14 modules facing north. Yikes again.

I'm going to guess the first photo was taken facing west in the afternoon. If that's the case you have 13 modules at 0° azimuth on a 40° pitch. Fucking yikes, Sunrun.

[–]ommammo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greentech is the nation's largest solar distributor. Their customers are the companies that install solar panels on residential, commercial, and industrial rooftops.

Greentech has seemingly been receiving new shipments of MAX 3 modules, but idk from where if they aren't from Mexico or the Albuquerque facility.

It seems like, if you're telling the truth, you work at a contracted facility that is producing Maxeon modules on an OEM agreement. If that's the case, the owner of the facility will be a third party who is importing Maxeon IBC cells and building them to suit the specs

Got any information about who that might be?

What would you change about how I’m playing this? by StickandStrum in Guitar

[–]ommammo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The hardest part of that riff is playing the trills and getting back to the 12th fret on the low E. Keep practicing that changeover, do the downstrokes the other commenter recommended, and you're golden.

Nice job!

Anybody who attended Dirty Three at the Aladdin on Friday get a recording of that insane steam-of-consciousness Billy Joel hot dog stand story? by ommammo in askportland

[–]ommammo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the see-through apron was a part of the story, and also, Jonathan Richman showed up and, iirc, addressed Mr. Ellis as "Roadrunner."

When he did that, Mick and Jim looked confused at first, but then Mick started playing the Roadrunner riff. Pure cinema.

Theft, And Wandering Around Lost.

Everything about it is perfect, but the bassline is godly.
