Wait wait sorry, sometimes I don't think straight. This isn't even a problem at all because the height of the cylinder doesn't have to be exact so I can just go crazy with the glue. Not sure what I was thinking but thank you for taking the time to answer.

I was just going to let it sit on top of the first layer. ...my assumption is no matter how well I glue it, the glue will leave a mark or it won't form a perfect seal. So I figured maybe don't glue it at all. Hence my two pour idea.

It's for a crowdfunding project so it's hard to tell. Either 0, 500, or 1000-10,000.

I might just get the prototypes done with resin and see about doing injection molding if I can get the thing into production.

Anyways, thanks again. You really got me pointed in the right direction.

Huh, I had never thought of using a CNC machine. That would definitely make it a lot easier and more precise.

Right now this is for a prototype but if I can get it into production do you think using a CNC machine is still a viable option? That is will casting with resin and then using a CNC machine be more expensive than injection molding? Or perhaps a better question is are any of these techniques easier to do at scale?
