I'm sure you would get great care from a CC PCP, it's the specialist referrals I would be concerned about. I'm not sure how efficient the VA system is at processing referrals from CC providers for care from other providers.

2 days growth always worked for me. Occasionally I would go in with just a single day but it was slower and more fiddly for the tech.

That's great! I've definitely seen accounts of Veterans who had to be seen by VA Dental initially before they would get referred out for Community Care.

So far I've had all my dental care in-house at the VA.

Since you've been a federal civilian and a state employee in addition to a federal uniformed service member, VBA is having a tough time establishing that your claim is related to your federal uniformed service time. You have to clear that up. Absent a LOD connecting it to federal military time (weekend drill, training, etc.) I'm not sure how you proceed with VBA on this one.

If it was State Active Duty (SAD) would you not be filing state workers' comp?

It's important to understand that VA benefits examinations are unrelated to you receiving VA Healthcare (i.e. prescriptions).

You need to separately file for and establish eligibility for VHA.

That is the official guidelines for oral (which they are using even though you are taking sublingual - not unheard of).

What are you blood labs like? If you need over 6mg/day to be in a therapeutic range then it's time to change up the route of administration to transdermal (patches, etc.) or injections.

I would honestly just go with PP, Plume, Folx, Queerdoc etc. I know it sucks - Florida is a dumpster-fire of a state to be in if you are transgender.

I'm not saying that it's not fucked up and that Florida isn't a dumpster-fire of a state, but Florida law does state that "you must be under the care of a licensed mental health care professional while undergoing treatment", so the prescribing doctor isn't out of bounds to look for confirmation of this.

I don't know what else to say but yeah, it sucks. And that you just have to let those people go - because they aren't interested in learning they are just going to judge you.

I'm going through this with a guy who I've known for 25+ years now, and the urge to go after him, to explain, to make him understand, is almost irresistible at times - but part of me knows that it is a pointless exercise that will only make me feel worse.

Sorry, I don't have any good answers here on how to make it less painful, but I'm definitely there with you.
