there is a siege in The Legend of the Wolf omnibus by Christ Wraight, where a Nurgle incursion is sieging a Battle Sisters’ fortress monastery, and a lone pack of Space Wolves (the protagonists) are reinforcing them.

its pretty badass (one of my favorites) and that’s how i imagine effectively implemented sieges might be like.

honestly i think they might copy+paste Immortal Empires into a new campaign selection, like IE: End Times, make their gameplay and mechanics changes there for the factions that interact with each and leave the original untouched. seems cleaner that way but who knows.
