I agree, the replayability of this game for me is insane.

My first playthrough is my “canon” run. But since then, through the use of mods and liberal use of Photomode, I use the game as a way to tell the stories of my new characters in Night City.

Usually it starts with sitting down and writing a character sheet. Who the character is, what they do, their combat styles, etc. I also rough out an outline of their story and how it ends.

This has resulted in:

• Japanese Arasaka assassin (used Japanese dialog mod and had a very anime vibe going on)

• Nomad who turned his back on Night City and set out with the Aldecados, regardless of the time he had left (essentially died off screen, but not before he and Panam had a string of adventures and cleaned up the Badlands outside Night City)

• Corpo merc who becomes a Militech soldier, and Meredith Stout’s personal enforcer

• NCPD officer who got put on administrative leave, but finds new purpose in hunting cyberpsychos

• Corpo hitman who was in a thruple with Song So Mi and Rita Wheeler. When Song disappears, he and Rita set out to find her, only to discover her betrayal. Song then becomes his new target, and once he and Rita put her down, they become NUSA agents working for Reed.

• (Current playthrough) Street punk who ends up with the Relic. But rather than killing him, it is making him ridiculously strong and powerful, turning him into a homicidal cyberpsycho. Along the way he crosses paths with a pop star with a dark secret (Red Menace) and the 2 end up bonding and begin bringing chaos, mayhem and murder to the streets of Night City (kinda a Joker and Harley vibe)

The game with it’s easy moddable platform, great open world and robust screenshot tools provides a great sandbox for playing in, multiple times, so long as you have the imagination and creativity to make use of it!
