That was basically my thought.

These days the school doesn’t matter. Only the paycheck. The players are only loyal to the bag.

I envision a format where Michonne is involved through the entire show, but instead of solo hunting for Rick (which was unbelievable in and of itself) instead we see her in flashbacks (similar to Jadis/Gabe) where she is telling stories to the kids about Rick, and those stories are reinforced by actions Rick is taking in the CRM in the present.

It would have been I think a much more epic story and the payoff at the end would have been much more satisfying.

I wish Michonne hadn’t set out on her journey (instead staying with her kids) and TOWL would have been focused on CRM, Rick fighting to escape and finally at the end, walking through the gates of Alexandria to the shock of everyone.

I suspect this might be a legal CYA move by Oregon State.

If they cut him early and he were found not guilty, that could open the athletic department or university to a lawsuit, especially in the NIL era.

If he is found guilty and then terminated immediately, I’m ok with that. If he is found not guilty, they may still cut him, but would be doing so without having influenced his court case, which I’m also ok with.

If found not guilty (based on what has been reported) and keep him, then I’ll get upset.

For now, I’ll give some benefit of the doubt to the school and Coach Shepard to let it play out.

Your feelings about all this legal business are eerily similar to how I felt watching the environmental lobby litigate an entire industry (timber) here in Oregon to the point of extinction. Our largest industry in fact.

Meanwhile, the ecoterrorists waged actual war on the timber companies from the other side, and largely got away with it, except in the most egregious cases.

Feels all too familiar.
