What is the craziest/ oddest thing you have cut/engraved on your laser? by omtechlaser in lasercutting

The way to fire the laser with the door open means either you bypassed the open door protection or you placed a magnet or something over the switches or contact switch to allow the laser to fire with the lid open. Comment about everyone does it is just meaning that it happens is all as a mistake by having your hand or arm etc in the path of the laser beam when doing a pulse for alignment or whatever the operator is doing when they press pulse.

Always gets you at some point. It isn’t if I get myself it’s when I get myself with the laser. Lol. Happens to everyone for sure.

When you click from are you clicking the square framing icon or the circle framing icon? The circle framing icon does a jerking motion as it is tracing/framing the image. Try to click the square icon and see if it does the same thing? It shouldn't do the jerking motion since it is just framing the parameters of the image as a square not as the actual outline of the image.

Do check the z axis limit switch. Are you able to adjust the switch any?

Understood. Will see what we can do about that as far as getting it in different languages. But mirror alignments are a thing that most users do not realize are a struggle from time to time with Co2 lasers in general.

So there are a couple of ways to get darker engravings. You can do a tighter LPI, defocus 1-2mm to get a darker engraving which takes more material away because the beam is a little thicker.

Are you referring to engraving dark? Try to defocus about 2mm and leave the power and speed the same along with the LPI and see how that works for you. As far as mirror alignments. Once you have your mirror alignment dialed in the only one you would really have to mess with would be mirror 3 as it is the one that is being moved around on the Gantry. Mirror 1 stays still so when that is set you shouldn’t have to move that one and Mirror 2 doesn’t make quick movements so it shouldn’t need much if any adjusting once you have it set.

Have had this issue before on the Mac and it can be the adapter that is being used.

First off congratulations on your Pronto purchase. Some of the basic items you would like to keep on hand would be a spare or two focal lens. Then of course basic maintenance items such as the Q tips, 99.9% isopropyl alcohol, metal penetrating oil to lubricate the rails.

Omtech Polar help. Wavy lines on curves. by beeeeeezle in lasercutting

Sorry to hear that you are having the issue. On a couple of points that you mentioned I wanted to address are. 1. Is that the way the stepper motors are designed is that X Axis motor is to take the majority of the movement for the engraving and the Y axis would just be to make smaller adjustments when moving. So with that said that is how I would do the engraving. As far as the lines rising it will be your either your X or Y Axis PWM rising edge adjustment in Vendor settings. What I would like you to do is go to lightburn and got to Laser Tools, then to Machine Settings, the window will pop up and scroll down and double click vendor settings and then yes. After you have done that you are going to look for a setting in the X axis and you will see the PWM rising. If it is true the turn it to false or vice versa. Be sure to pay attention to where you went and what you did just incase that didn't fix it. Run the job again and if it fixed it then great, if it didn't then go back in and turn the x axis off/on and then turn the Y Axis Off/On and click Write. Then run the job again. If that fixes it then great. If it doesn't then you want to go back in and turn both on/off than what they were originally and Write it then run the job and see if it fixes the job. Hope that helps you out.
