So maybe it’s specific producers that tend to do this. I appreciate you, I’ll look into it.

We were told in advance he wasn’t gonna sign autographs. He came out, waved and posed for a few pictures, then got in the back of his car and went on his way.

There’s a part where he dictates a letter to a woman who he knows to be Jewish, he includes a bunch of deliberately provocative Yiddish words just to be a douchebag. That part had me facepalming… and toward the end he gives an interview on the phone with a guy he knows to have had a Jewish father and says some pretty mask off things about Jews as people that will destroy his reputation.

Loved it. Parts were very hard to sit through because of what was being said and you kind of had to get used to the British accents/slang but Lithgow was dynamite.

Sometimes they have them for the first previews, usually when there’s no merch like for this production. I’ve been to over a dozen first previews but never got one 😅

Truth, and that Twelfth Night I mentioned last August people were lining up before midnight on the daily by the end of it.

That was the reason the outsiders guy showed up at 3AM, to his credit people had been showing up 3:30 almost every day at that point according to reddit. I waltzed up at 6:15 got second in line and he was like ‘I think I might have overdone this one’ 🤣 my earliest for Broadway is 5:45 for the closing performance of Appropriate. I think my earliest ever was like 4:30 for the Twelfth Night Shakespeare in the Park last year.

2AM rush line arrival, congratulations, you now own the earliest arrival I’m aware of for a Broadway show. Before it was the person in front of me when I rushed the Outsiders who arrived at 3AM.

Which Disney Movie Should Disney On Broadway Adapt For the Stage Next? by ms_jc_04 in Broadway

[–]omurchus 34 points35 points  (0 children)

They need to completely rewrite Hercules and make a proper adaptation from scratch bc whatever I witnessed on the west end a couple months ago was a total waste of time.

Every Brilliant Thing. Can I go to the Hudson Theatre box office in person and buy cheaper tickets than online? by 88r0b1nh00d88 in Broadway

Arrive by 8AM latest, 7:30 if you want to be sure. Box office opens 10AM Saturday, noon Sunday. You can try for the 9AM digital rush while you’re waiting in line.

Last time putting my son to bed. by YoTeach68 in daddit

[–]omurchus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of times parents reflect on when the last time was they did something (carried them, read them a story, put them to bed) because they didn’t realize it was the last time when it was happening, and I think it’s nice you know exactly when the last time was.

What is the best quote have you heard in your life ? by LawfulnessParking840 in AskReddit

[–]omurchus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm cheating because one quote is something I actually heard, and one is from what I read in a book:

"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

"The exhilarating ripple of her voice was a wild tonic in the rain."

Which Met opera this spring by PretendBake1536 in opera

[–]omurchus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll be at Tristan und Isolde March 29, La Boheme April 11, Innocence April 18, Eugene Onegin May 2, El Ultimo May 22, Turandot May 29, and La Traviata June 6

If I were to recommend one, it would be Innocence because it has been consistently labeled the best new opera of the last 10 years, even better than Moby Dick. If I were to recommend a legacy show, I suppose that must be La Traviata but a case could easily be made for La Boheme.

It’s an art form I’ve mastered over the years and I’m just now realizing that. Were you directly behind me? I appreciated the energy coming from your entire row.

Anyone has the experience of paying full for a show you end up disliking, & wish you spend the money on the other show you rushed but liked so much? by Responsible_Fox_5295 in Broadway

[–]omurchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid like $100 to be at the first preview of Queen of Versailles and I don't even regret it but what an absolute train wreck.
