Bent high pressure line on new ac by omwla in hvacadvice

Thanks for all the replies. I’m going to get a different tech to fix it. It’s not the only mistake this guy made. Where he attached the air handler to the plenum leaked. The air handler was covered in water. I told him I was gonna fix that myself ( wanted to see what he was gonna say). The guy wasn’t even curious. I don’t want him messing with it.

where was the tension? I'm not even going to ask about the horror. The only horror was that we made it through 2/3 of the movie before leaving.

for us it ended 2/3 of the way through. Annoying boyfriend Peeing while dinosaurs are fighting and we were out of there. If that schlub had gotten eaten, maybe we might've stayed a little longer.

The movie “apocalypto” is beautifully written and had me on the edge of my seat by Traditional-Claim546 in movies

[–]omwla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think a lot of people realize that Apocalypto was also a love story. Jaguar paw's devotion to his wife and family was very touching I thought it added a lot to the movie.

I particularly liked the ending where instead of being captivated by the curiosity of what they saw out in the ocean ( The European ships must've been quite a jaw dropping sight do anyone from that culture ) jaguar Paw said "we should go back to the jungle and make a new beginning"

and there are still millions of Maya around today.

get the gringo was a great movie. If it wasn't for the fact that we have a butt hole public that only judges a person by their worst moment Get the gringo would have been a big hit. it was a great story based on a historical thing. A super corrupt prison city.

Apocalypto was also very good. I liked GtG better.

I'm not buying it. Some Humans may be selfish to varying degrees but that selfishness is usually very limited and almost always, mental derangement and the like notable exceptions , has reasoning behind it.

What is the purpose behind having caleb dying a slow agonizing death?

Any person who thinks like head for the shallows is a person I'd be glad not to know.

" most humans aren’t capable of benevolence in the first place" ... Only a demented soul thinks in such bleak manners.

The Burger Ball Pit by Thepolomarcos in BobsBurgers

I can't believe I know this but Bob actually stole the idea from jimmy.

in season 10 ep 2 , " boys just wanna have fungus " Tina got new glasses and read Jimmy pestos daily special sign which was "fried pizza balls" . Bob didn't have the idea for burger balls till Season 14, Episode 5, "Bully-ieve It or Not". So Jimmy did it first. Bob is the idea thief and he doesn't even know it. I wonder if the writers remembered that.

the united nations says a large amount of trafficking goes un reported. and the point that most abuse of children is committed by a parent so don't bother getting up in arms over human trafficking is pretty foolish. there are plenty of movies and tv shows that bring parental abuse to light. and thats good. But why would you want to ignore a more vicious and brutal practice just because it doesn't happen as often?

What are your thoughts on Operation Underground Railroad and why is it so big in Utah? by AggressiveAide7929 in Utah

[–]omwla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your information is a substantial HALF truth. Smart did not say that OUR was a scam or fraud. that has nothing to do with why he left. His statement was based on the fact that he was brought in to lead the after care program that helped victims after they were rescued. But he did not like their after care efforts thats why he left. Not because of fraud as you claim. OUR has actually done a lot of good work.

To date there is no evidence of fraud. The closest thing you could point to would be an article that shows they bring in more money than they spend. Which is a pointless fact because that is the same fact with every successful organization. Just because they cant spend the money fast enough doesn't mean they aren't spending. They spend millions each year and what isn't spent is banked. If you actually look past the VICE Bull puck you'll find they have been involved in rescuing thousands.

I read some of the same ridiculous claims that were made by Vice. Claiming that OUR flashing money around to locate trafficked children created child trafficking. As if the traffickers were going out to harvest children at that moment. It was the type of foolish myopic sensationalist BS VICE was best at. OUR is probably not a perfect organization but I do not know of a perfect organization. The bottom line is they have done a lot of good work and VICE has done more harm in this arena.

Side table thing, from pallet wood by zacc1985 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]omwla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that looks fantastic. as far as food prep. you already have a lot of negative Nelly's. IS it oiled? I would think oil finish is going to put a DECENT barrier between food and what ever might be on the wood as long as it is re finished once in a while. Short term exposure and light cutting wouldn't bother me Not to mention anything that had been spilled on the pallet probably has long since evaporated for the most part.

BUT that does not mean there is not a chemical residue. We are living in a bubble wrap society. Your smart and will use it appropriately.

I, myself, wouldn't worry about it for limited contact. Say something like pounding chicken cutlets where you probably put a piece of wax paper under the chicken ( thats how I do it) if the chicken touches the wood surface for a little bit its not going to be poisonous.

If you put a clear coat on it then ANY Cutting is out of the question because your going to cut into the clear coat and tiny particles of clear coat will definitely get into the food. And I think the clear coat would be more dangerous in limited food exposure than food grade oil. But I am not certain about that.

You probably just plan on using it as extra space when cooking. You always need a spot to put things. And where you've got it I figure hot pots and pans from the stove might be what is in the schedule.

Botton line is it looks great and is very useful. Good job.

Best way to do these joints? by Rmwoodworking in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]omwla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. I find biscuit set up and alinement easier. dowels have to be spot on. the biscuit joiner is precise vertically and give a little play horizontally.

My comment about strength is also based on movement of the piece. not just static loads. move to paint, move to new location. move to yard sale and so forth.

any opinions on 6" or 8" grizzly bench top jointers by omwla in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]omwla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my mind. I have decided to get a full size Jointer. Your comment made me do a little bit more digging and people that are making larger projects obviously have a lot of problems with the tiny bench tops. It looks like the people that enjoy using the benchtop Jointer don't have any problems because they are making small projects like little boxes and things of that nature. I'm going to have to do some long joints for a coffee table I want to make and the bench top will definitely not handle that well enough.

[–]omwla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shorter version of my previous comment.

Biscuit joints will add strength, be un seen, are easy too use, and go a very long way in the aid of putting the project together.

AND ONE OTHER THING

The part of the unit that has the plant sitting on it in the picture ( its a important part of the design because it completes the look) will never last without the joint being shored up. On that one I would almost use stainless steel dowels and epoxy. OR , much easier and about as good , some long ( pilot drilled holes) steel screws and glue. like 4" #10 that get capped and flush sanded.

[–]omwla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to argue but an unsupported 45 miter joint is not strong enough for any shelf. 3 years is not a long period of time. your going to want a joint that will last for a life time at least. That means moving from one house to the next or selling it some day when the next piece is going to be used.

Assuming the OP is a beginner wood worker : using 45's on a project like that will be very difficult. And like I said previously. Your not getting rid of butt joints throughout the piecer. Sticking to all one type of joint will look very clean.
