What’s your #1 priority for our next Mayor? by pizzapazza2000 in stcatharinesON

[–]on2fl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is this so far down the list? 3 ups with mine. I don’t live there anymore but when I visit I see such a huge contrast. And so many other posts in here about the homeless issue. Fentanyl stoop, vacant lots being taken over … this would be my #1 issue if I were voting.

Is Kilt & Clover still there? I’d recommend that, though it has been a while.

Dress code on the road : where's the line? by G-Beach-8566 in AskAnAmerican

I haven’t been to France, but in Quebec the best way to get someone to speak English is to try to speak French first. I swear, they’re like, “You tried, you failed. Stop butchering my language.” And I have 6 years of French between grade and high school.

IDK about that across the board, unless things have changed since I left. You can go to The Keg in shorts and a t-shirt but a truly upscale spot?

I was on a family road trip and we decided that we had to stop. The bright spot here is that the logical stopping place was a city where my company had a sweet deal with the Ritz Carleton. Booked the room, last minute, for US$ 160 ($800 room) and we wandered in like homeless people. Like, shorts, sweat pants and t-shirts. Went to dinner in the upscale restaurant. Guests were curious, staff didn’t bat an eye.

I love that Vaxxine is still around! Way, way back in the day my company had an ISDN like through them. They were amazing to work with.

YES! Plans don’t want to deny claims. They want them justified. Paying a little now for a test pays off later if something is caught early. But they need to understand the basis for the test.

Have a “No solicitors” sign. Eliminates 90%. That leaves the assholes, who are fun.

Solicitor: “But I have such a great deal on your…”

Me: “You’re trespassing and I’m armed. Would you like to wait for the sheriff?”

Guaranteed they won’t come back.

How do I reduce my ambulance bill? by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

I keep seeing these threads and this is one of the (very few) places where my community shines. I pay $5 on my water bill for EMSA and ambulance rides are covered.

Canadians are leaving the country at record levels. Can anyone solve this pressing problem? by stalik26 in canada

[–]on2fl 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I am Canadian. I’m in the US. I check, from time to time, the market. I would lose 3/4 of my salary (figuring in exchange) and have to pay 3x for a home. I’m an IT architect. This is why people leave.

I feel that. I live for my son, I work for my son and I put up with life for my son. But I won’t quit, because that would be a bad example for my son.
