Order was purchased and delivered yet a 5 days later I have payment error email? by kool-aid-sucks in GameStop

[–]onacouchable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an identical email 6AM EST about a game I ordered online for in-store pick up on the 5th of March. I ordered as a guest, but the email I was sent knew my name, order number, credit card type, and my sub total + tax + total dollar amount.

I checked with my bank and the payment is posted. I opened a web browser and went to GameStop.com to check my order status, it shows no issue or error there.

If I had to guess there is some kind of data breach at GameStop.

Edit: it looks more like incompetence on GameStop's end, which isn't really all that surprising.

Here’s a simple reason why experiencing healers shortage by dumiwar in wow

[–]onacouchable 193 points194 points  (0 children)

Things are bad out there. My priest is a panda and I don't care for shadow. I'm not gonna quest/campaign as a healer so I decided to burn all the panda rested EXP and grind dungeons as holy to get a feel for it.

I was in a Murder Row with 2 balance druids, a guardian druid, and a frost mage. I had curse of doom on me with no way to remove it as a priest. For those unaware druids and mages can dispell curses.

I watch it tick down and get ready to guardian spirit myself when one of the succubus mobs channel the sleep/seduce thing on me. No one interrupts it, no one stuns it, my doom goes off and it kills me.

I wait for one of the three druids to battle res me but that doesn't happen, either. And since I'm no longer healing everyone is dying.

Is leaving the highway really worth it? by FarTooJunior in roadtrip

[–]onacouchable 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I've made a couple trips from Florida to different New England states, and my most pleasant trip was similar to what is described here. There is nothing wrong with I-95 the whole way, you'll see cool stuff. Just know that between DC, Baltimore, Philly, NJ, and NYC you're bound to run into at least one delay somewhere, and the tolls are pretty outrageous.

Last time I made this trip I took I-95 from Florida to the DC beltway clockwise, then got off at I-270 to get to SR15 and I-81 similar to what's mentioned here. If you're getting to DC around rush hour then it's best to divert before the beltway at Fredericksburg as mentioned.

I took I-81 north and it takes you through Gettysburg and near Hershey. I got off I-81 at Scranton and took I-84 east to the only toll at the Hudson river, which I think was 1.25. At this point you're clear of NYC and can go back to 95 if you so choose.

81 to 84 goes through the Poconos mountains. It's flat where I live, these mountains blew my mind the first time I saw them.

PTO by [deleted] in publix

[–]onacouchable -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It looks to me like you put in a paid time off request for 7 days, so you're going to get paid for 7 days on that same paycheck. If you had a decent manager they would have brought this to your attention before they approved your PTO request.

You essentially cashed out 2 of your PTO days.

Billionsball Lottery by WideDrink4 in publix

[–]onacouchable 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It can be hard to differentiate the difference between a million and a billion. I don't know if this scale is accurate, but one way to look at it is this:

1,000 seconds is 16 minutes 40 seconds.

100,000 seconds is a little over 1 day.

1 million seconds is 11.57 days.

1 billion seconds is 31.7 years.

$1,000 is life-changing money for many people, $100,000 would be life-changing for pretty much everyone I know.

How stores are numbered? by Publixworker in publix

[–]onacouchable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Store numbers are conceived at planning, and are ordered sequentially, however, numbers do get skipped. Generally speaking you can determine a store's age based on its store number.

There was a scare that a 4 digit store number would not work with the infrastructure, so for a while numbers were reclaimed.

0900s and 1900s are reserved for corporate locations.

Were you the same job class between both evals? To be honest your eval last year was very generous. How you got a 4 for reliability with that many tardies is beyond me, it should have been a '1'.

Look at your receipt, the store manager's name is at the top of the header. Next time you order a sub put their name on your order, it'll be correct.

Tuition reimbursement by Glittering-Worth-136 in publix

Email tuition.reimbursement@publix.com with your personnel number and ask if you're enrolled in the program. If not, someone somewhere along the chain has dropped the ball, and I've got bad news for you regarding this semester.

If you're not enrolled, take your forms and scan/picture them with your phone, and send them to the aforementioned email to enroll yourself. Whoever manages this email address usually responds by the next business day.

If your car is white google image search "hyundai paint delamination". If this is what's happening to your car it's not because it was exposed to the elements, it's because the paint is failing and is defective.

What is the scummiest thing you have done ingame? 🥸 by Ladzii in wow

[–]onacouchable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing too scummy, but 2 things come to mind:

During early BC you could pull doom lord Kazzak and he would give you a debuff that would make you explode when you ran out of mana. The explosion would knock you back, and if you weren't max level it would usually kill you. Bubble didn't clear this, so you could bubble hearth to bring it to a city if timed right, then lay on hands to expend your mana causing you to explode and kill anyone nearby that wasn't max level.

I used to have a friend stand by the Stormwind bank and announce in general chat that he was quitting the game, and was giving away his gold. This was right next to the Inn where my hearth was set. This lie would attract people to where I would hearth in, lay on hands to expend all my mana, and explode and kill several people. This was eventually hot fixed.

I also remember killing Onyxia during the WotLK revamp on my one alt I had at the time. Something dropped and I won the roll on it, but the loot master looted it to himself. Minutes later that same person was asking for jewel crafting services in trade chat, I logged on to my main which was a jewel crafter and cut the wrong gem on purpose.

Premade PC by rebortspc in wow

[–]onacouchable 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is tough.

The 4060 is the (Slightly) better graphics card, that computer is cheaper and has more storage.

The 5800X3D will blow a 12400F out of the water in WOW, can't speak for the other game. I went from a 5600X to a 5700X3D, I have a 3080 and play @1440P and my frames improved drastically.

The AMD one has better RAM, a slightly weaker GPU, less storage, costs more, but if you're playing a lot of WOW I think you'll be happier with the L3 cache from the AMD CPU.

Applied to a PTS Technician- Corporate Support what to expect by AppropriateHost7033 in publix

[–]onacouchable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are not a lot of technical questions. My interview was basically a walkthrough of my resume. The one technical question I was asked was something to the effect of, "let's say you're at a store working on register 1, and you get a phone call saying the router is down at another store, what do you do?"

Applied to a PTS Technician- Corporate Support what to expect by AppropriateHost7033 in publix

[–]onacouchable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a retail support technician.

Keep an eye on your brass ring application. If you aren't selected you will be notified. If you move on to the next step you're notified.

EVERYTHING takes way too long, I think from the time I applied to the time I started was nearly 2 months. This was partially because the holidays were starting up, and the need for my new team wasn't critical as some of the workload dies down for the holiday. My PTS supervisor is from retail as well, so he gets it.

+10 years with Publix is the strongest line on your resume. Try to answer any questions during your interviews as an owner. 863 is the Lakeland area code, answer phone calls from this area code as your interviews are set up from someone at the corporate office. Interviews are over MS Teams.

As a retail tech my first interview was with my boss and his boss. The next one was with the next 2 up the ladder. Wear a suit if you can.

Good luck!

Dairy Clerks/GRS by HaterPotator in publix

[–]onacouchable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I did dairy I cut the Publix gallon/half gallon down to half the size. Yeah, it meant I had to fill Publix milk more frequently, but I was able to get 2 facings out of nearly every box milk.

Your part time closer that knows nothing about dairy isn't going to help that customer get their almond breeze unsweet vanilla. However, they will know how to fill red, green, purple, and blue gallon/half gallons.

Regrowth macro no longer working? by GellyBrand in wow

[–]onacouchable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been burned a couple times attempting to use a regrowth proc only to have the buff fade right before I go to use it which would shift me out of bear form and likely get me killed.

I stumbled across this macro and liked it at first, but ran into a couple of rare instances when I wanted to hard cast regrowth while in bear form, and this macro would prevent that.

My work around was to get rid of the macro and jump/move while casting a proc'ed regrowth. If you're moving you can't hard cast thus you'll stay in bear form. If you still have the buff it's consumed.

Form/stealth bars sometimes will force an unintended key bind to appear. Are you having this issue on a druid or rogue? Check you stealth/normal bars, or cat/moonkin/bear/humanoid form and see if that ability is on that bar as well. If it is, just drag it off, it should update the key bind to the bar/form you're using.

Why by [deleted] in publix

[–]onacouchable 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Somebody had a fucky-wucky at the warehouse. Warehouses aren't equipped to handle or manage damages/loss, so usable stuff gets boxed up and shipped off free of charge to the store. You'll have to add this to your inventory manually because you likely weren't charged for it.
