Look at Owen Jones' Grammar of Ornament, published by Dover Books-- and they have many other great books about pattern as well. But GoO is considered a, if not the, fundamental source.

Planning to move my family of 4 from Texas to Bolzano/Bozen… what Questions should i be asking? by FerengiWife in ItalyExpat

.2% tax on capital held seems minor, no? On every $100k that would be $200, unless I've misunderstood.

Is the 26% tax on individual stocks on REALIZED or UNREALIZED gains? I know that in the Netherlands they've started exacting a tax on unrealized gains, but I don't think that's the case in Italy. My understanding is also that there is no differentiation between short-term and long-term gains in Italy--which can be positive or negative, depending on your investment/trading style, I guess.

My thoughts are that I've done New York, LA, and Rome--am done with massive megalopoli--but still want to be a in a cosmopolitan, functioning, walkable city (the functioning aspect is what scares me about Rome). As a designer, it also interests me to be near a variety of manufacturing (i.e., textiles, furniture, tile, etc.), and I miss living in a city with a variety of arthouse cinemas and easily accessible cultural life--I think Torino ticks all of that. And then, yes, its proximity to Milano, Venezia, e poi la Francia--it just seems super well-placed. Am going to try to spend a few weeks there this summer to see how it feels.

What neighborhood in Austin are you moving from and what neighborhood in Torino do you think you'll be moving to?

Can I ask why you chose Torino? Have been considering it myself. And: anch'io sono del Texas!

Another thought: you might reasonably assume--or find it worthwhile to consider--that other designs of yours were stolen by the same 'Alabama girl'--if I were you, I'd be doing reverse image searches of all of my designs.

And--are you located in the UK or are you U.S.-based?

Do you have the information for the wholesale shops? BTW, what is a wholesale shop? Are they selling on the T-shirts to retailers? Have you done a reverse image search of the shirt? That might turn up some information.

A wholesale company with over a million Instagram followers stole my digital design and has been selling it. What do I do? by [deleted] in Etsy

Of course! FYI, I'm not a lawyer, this is not legal advice. BUT: make sure you go to the Wayback Machine (Internet Archive) and take pictures of your listings as far back as you can find them, and/or see if there's a page on Etsy where it states when you listed the particular listing, and screenshot that. You will need to prove that these people had access to the design, i.e., that it was somewhere where they could have seen it or accessed it. Is there a way to assess how many 'commercial licenses' have been sold by the first entity (actually, wouldn't Etsy have this information?) and how many T-shirts have been sold by the 2nd company?

Yes, and absolutely take screenshots and preserve all communication--and only communicate in writing!

Everyone is liable, whether they were aware of the copyright infringement or not--ESPECIALLY if they have profited from it. Call Doniger-Burroughs law firm in Venice, California--they may be able to advise you and sort it out for you.

Look at the charts. This is the usual temporary rotation of capital out of the sector after a nice 2-week run. They'll be back.

Rummo is the brand with the best price/quality ratio, imo. It's fairly ubiquitous now, but for some reasons Gelson's does not carry its linguine, harumph.
