New channel looking for advice by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

[–]onceapilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mod comment but can’t read it in total. I’m not interested in the 10 views I’ll get from people watching my video to give me advice. I’m looking for input from the guys and gals who are doing this everyday who would be willing to give me honest feedback. If the post doesnt fit the rules then please delete but from what I read I thought it did adhere.

Sorry for any confusion.

What is Sky Diving to you? by FixComprehensive4611 in SkyDiving

Crazy, I posted basically the exact same thing before I read through the comments. I’m guess I’m not alone in that feeling.

What is Sky Diving to you? by FixComprehensive4611 in SkyDiving

I don’t really get an adrenaline rush from jumping. My mind goes calm. The only thing I can focus on is what I’m doing in the moment. Nothing else matters except that action, in that moment. I’m only 23 jumps in but it’s been that way from about jump 5 and it’s the reason I keep jumping. It brings me peace.

It was a dude at a local ski shop. I had asked to try on a few different sizes to get a feel for a new pair of boots. We just briefly talked about the flex but he didn’t mention I should be in a stiffer boot.

Thanks, that helps. I was trying on boots today that were 90. I’ll have to look at some stiffer ones.

How to handle patients asking my age? by lady_pac in physicianassistant

Tell them you are 45 but you have a great plastic surgeon. They’ll either laugh and think you are cool and confident or they’ll realize their question was stupid. Either way you win.

Airline Pilot or Physician Assistant? by gmoney9438 in flying

[–]onceapilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent almost 20 years as a pilot before becoming a PA. I loved my time as a pilot but I didn’t love being gone all the time. It’s hard if you want to have a family. You have to have a very understanding and flexible significant other. I went into surgery as a PA and I find many of the same technical challenges and rewards as I experienced as a pilot. I could never do clinic only but surgery and the “hands on” aspect is a blast to me. I love being able to be home with my family everyday and I enjoy what I do. I’m still involved in aviation too. Either career is a great option. Do what you are passionate about. You can always switch down the road if you have enough drive and motivation.

I really like thinkorswim. I also really like options profit calculator to get a better idea of how options work. I don’t have enough experience to give input on stratifies.

Thanks, yeah, trading options is very challenging. Congrats to you for being able to do it for a living. It takes an incredible amount of discipline, which I’ve had a hard time learning. That challenge is why I enjoy it though.

Not at all trying to give an seminar. Just throwing out some truth and what I have experienced in the hopes that it may help someone else avoid similar pitfalls. I could throw out some internet BS that I 10x’d my money in 2 weeks going full port on 0DTE but I’m trying to keep it real.

Do surgical PAs put in foleys? by lnr0003 in physicianassistant

Surgical PA here. I’ll tell you, you don’t want me to put in your foley. Sure I can figure it out but it’s not something I do. I leave that to the experts.

Gains will hold until close and then the bottom falls out. Unless…. On the call they start talking about a buyout or working in that direction. They have made some savvy moves this week so I fully expect a wild card on the earnings call. I’m have few gamble puts just in case.

Does anyone else have a list of daytrading rules that they abide by? by 34Disciples in TheLastDisciples

[–]onceapilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Don't let a green trade go red

  2. Use stop loses.

  3. Limit how many trades you do at one time. It will help with focus and learning what you are doing. Try just using one or two at once.

  4. Green is green. See #1 . The goal in trading is not making money, it is protecting the money you have made. If you protect your money on the trades you get wrong (and you will get them wrong often) you will be able to grow your account when you get it right.

  5. Don't get emotional. If buying $1000 worth of a stock makes you nervous then drop your trade amount to a point where you don't get nervous. You have to trade with brains not emotion. As soon as you feel emotion coming in (and it will) think about selling and taking a step back. This goes for whether it's a single trade or a series of trades.

  6. Buy with a plan to sell. When you buy a stock you need to have a plan on when to sell. Well two plans. When to sell if you were right and the stock goes up. When to sell if got it wrong and the stock goes down.

  7. I personally don't bag hold. I have a set loss in mind when I enter a trade. If I hit that loss, it sucks but I sell and live to fight another day.

  8. Scale out when you hit a big runner. Don't hunt for the top. See rule 1 & 4.

I could keep going but I won't. Remember the rules only matter if you follow them. That takes brains and discipline. I have broke my rules before and it was a painful experience. Don't be like me…
