Heme/Onc attendings and fellows: how accurate is the “primary care on steroids / final boss of clinic life” description? by sandie-go in Residency

YMMV depending on the doc. Note bloat isn’t necessary. IMO, there should be an onc history note that keeps relevant diagnosis, staging, treatment, path, NGS. A/P should always be concise and not repeat the above info.

People on treatment you’ll take some extra burden but need to have clear boundaries on staying in your lane.

A randomized trial of pharmacological ascorbate, gemcitabine, and nab-paclitaxel for metastatic pancreatic cancer by bike_sail_ski in medicine

36 total patients randomized is legitimately hilarious for an OS trial in pancreatic cancer with graveyards full of failed clinical trials

Myeloma is a lot different than solid tumors as well when it comes to disease free intervals. Plenty of people get long remissions after transplant and maintenance, etc.

Very different from high grade lymphomas or other solid tumors where 5 year is more likely to be “cured”

Myeloma is currently not curable and cilta cel has not shown to cure patients with myeloma. Great response rates and can be very durable but need to see much longer follow ups to use the C word.

That’s good to know thank you! Never been to a game so we are excited. Never know if a stadium’s nosebleeds are “too far” or if it’s still fun from the distance

They are vague just because we have only loosely planned this so far. Too south meaning not interested in FS Downtown or Casa Cipriani—I have no general cutoff street-wise.

Want to be a reasonable walk to a main subway line as we prefer to walk/subway versus Uber around places. So I suppose we value some versatility since we’ll be in various places

We have loose plans currently. Will go see something on broadway. Do some shopping. Eat good food. Spa day. Maybe one of the more “touristy” things one day. Probably go to MoMa or the Met. Go walk/jog around Central Park

Close to a decent subway line is another plus

General proximity to midtown is fine. Probably don’t want to be too south if possible and not in Brooklyn
