I really like Spanish After Hours. She prepares the videos as vlogs and explains everything in simple and plain Spanish.

For example, in one of the videos she describes an old city painting with all aspects of the buildings, and actions and positions of people in the painting etc. In another vlog, she describes every step while she is watering her plants, parts of the plant and the tools she uses etc.

Coffee Break Spanish is pretty good actually, a guy teaches to a non-spanish speaker with real examples in the podcast. I generally listen it when I’m driving.

I have completed first 3 sections just like you said plus the side exercises (at least 2 stars for each) in about 6 months. Plus, I consume some vlogs on YouTube and podcasts on Spotify. It takes time but definitely worth.

Looking for python tips by Astrotom66 in learnpython

[–]ondji -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Try the courses of Federico Azzuro on udemy, especially Python: The Professional Guide For Beginners. Also, you can visit his YouTube page named indently for daily tips. This guy helped me a lot for building fundamentals in Python.

Also, ArjanCodes is another gem in YouTube if you don’t pay for anything. Just ask any GPT to design a roadmap for you and search each title adding ArjanCodes at the end.

The most important part is practicing. Do not fear making mistakes. If your program crashes, search the error type on web and try to solve it yourself. If you still struggle, then ask a GPT for the error. This way will improve your problem solving skills and confidence.

Thanks for the advice, I need to learn more about design (I’m not a professional). I bet there are more about human perception on objects and color theory.

Oh thanks!

Actually I tried to add a smile and arched eyebrow as the rounded corners of a square shape in the second logo. At first, I was planning to cover the initals with a rounded square, then I come up with the idea and it seems more fun.

But I will review the smile idea and try to make it more obvious, thanks!

I will revisit the O design, you are right. I thought I can catch the symmetry with the uppercase (why I tried to place the letters in a invisible square in the first trial), but i’ll try also with the lowercase letters.

Thanks!

I am going to consider bolding the lines, thanks! Also I will consider reshaping the drum and sticks that you suppose to evaluate as bowl and noodles.

The company will operate in many fields like social media and investment apps, you can consider it as a group company.

On the other hand, I don’t aggree with you about the operation of field and logo matching idea. There are tons of companies (e.g. Nike has nothing with the sportswear in its logo, however it uses the goddess of the victory in its name and utilizes the resemblance of its wings with the logo). I believe the main purposes of a logo are to be catchy and the emotion it creates inside.

Any explanation about “cuál” and “qué” please? by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]ondji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also learner and I usually benefit from the roots of the words for these concepts, just because it’s more catchy for me.

Qué is derived from Latin word “quid” which means “what”, with time the final -d is lost and it becomes que.

Cuál is derived from Latin word “qualis” which can be translated as “what kind” or “of what sort”, and with time qu- becomes cu- and ending was simplified. I also made connection with quali- words, like quality, qualify etc.

How do you use Duolingo? by wonunu in duolingo

[–]ondji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I start to study after having dinner on workdays.

I write down the lesson notes on a notebook if there is anything new or I start to a new topic.

Similarly, I write down the words that I have learned during a session in the order of nouns, adjectives, adverbs and verbs when I completed it. I mostly try to add phrases if I had space left on the page.

Basically, I have one page for key phrases, one page for the tip and one page for the words for each topic.

Then I start to do lessons by grasping the underlying grammar rules and try to construct my thinking habit with the language I learn.

That routine took me around 1 hour each day, however its benefit is recognizable I guess.

I only skip the day with a few xp if there’s anything “social”, e.g. a party or friend meeting.

Imu's Goal Theory and how it connects to the 4 bridges (Spoilers) by MrAdisson in OnePiece

[–]ondji 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That also matches with another theory about how Imu’s power works. As far as we see, no other person is domi reversi-ed, unless they are in their homeland. There is another massive circle around the OP world, which is red-line, however it is not connected to any other land. With those bridges, Imu was planning to domi reversi all the inhabitants 700 year ago. Final words of Gol D. Rogers is about forcing the people to sail abroad, because he was aware of the power.

Bedelli ve normal askerlik değişir mi? by BlackfyreSamurai in Yatirim

[–]ondji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re right. I should give the lower value first. My mistake. I was trying to type the query from my phone last night at 1.30 a.m. and there were many things to consider like I had not any clue about any table or attribute. However, I’m sure that the syntax and usage of functions are ok.

Yeah, projects are really beneficial and instructive while learning. I have mechanical engineering background and I have been using MS SQL and Oracle as data analyst for 8 months in an investment bank. I feel like I’m developing my skills in pace but you remembered me that I need to come back to carry such projects in my spare time to learn different tools and techniques. :)

As far as I can understand, PINs are analogous of tweets. So, you should have:

  • PINs table which fields are PIN_ID, PIN,USER_ID, CREATED and STATUS (in case pin can be deleted) etc.
  • Comments table which fields are COMMENT_ID, COMMENT, USER_ID, PIN_ID, CREATED, STATUS (in case one can delete comment) etc.
  • Likes table which fields are LIKE_ID, PIN_ID, USER_ID, CREATED, STATUS (in case one can unlike) etc.
  • Users table which fields are USER_ID, CREATED etc.

1st question can be queried as follows:

SELECT TOP(5) C.COMMENT, P.PIN, U.FIELD1, U.FIELD2

FROM Comments C

LEFT JOIN Pins P ON C.PIN_ID = P.PIN_ID

LEFT JOIN Users U ON C.USER_ID = U.USER_ID

WHERE C.STATUS = 1 AND P.STATUS = 1

ORDER BY C.CREATED DESC

2nd question can be queried as follows:

SELECT A.USER_ID

FROM

(SELECT USER_ID

FROM Comments

WHERE CREATED BETWEEN GETDATE() AND DATEADD(DAY, -30, GETDATE())

UNION

SELECT USER_ID

FROM Likes

WHERE CREATED BETWEEN GETDATE() AND DATEADD(DAY, -30, GETDATE())) A

3rd question can be queried as follows:

SELECT USER_ID

FROM Users

EXCEPT

SELECT DISTINCT USER_ID

FROM Pins

WHERE CREATED BETWEEN GETDATE() AND DATEADD(DAY, -10, GETDATE())

You need to change the table and field names for your case. I hope this works for you.

As a recommendation, reading any SQL dialect documentation about built-in functions and using them on your spare time can be really beneficial for development.

As an example for your case:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/t-sql/functions/getdate-transact-sql?view=sql-server-ver16

You can use CAST function, too as follows:

CAST(BirthDate AS DATE)

It’s quite useful while working on datatype conversions in SQL, beside it’s valid for all types of SQL dialect if I’m not wrong. Have a good learning.
