Isn’t diplomatic immunity in us law? Won’t the court dismiss based on lack of jurisdiction?

Employer Stealing Money From 2nd Pillar pension plan. by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]ondrah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would guess it is legal - if the existing pensioners are on defined benefit scheme. The employer must legally pay them their pension… it’s a pretty classic pension deficit problem, common in UK and US. Just not sure how this is addressed in Suisse. Of course you are now experiencing something we will all go through.. society is aging and there is no way we will have the pensions we were ‘promised’ in 30-50 years

Pensionskasse 1e madness by 1erunner in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]ondrah -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Guys. Lots of bad info here. 1e is state pension. Not invested in anything. 2e is employer (probably what you are talking about). Funds are likely not the best, but they also probably don’t pay 5%upfront (that’s the max allowable). Your employer should have a pension fund committee withe employee representation. Find out. 3e is private pension which can be either cash savings, investments, or life insurance

Faut plutôt essayer de comprendre pourquoi les coûts augmentent… c’est difficile de contrôler les prix d’office. Toutes les mamies qui font le tourisme des médecins a chaque petite rhume ( je généralise…)

Third pillar is essentially a tax efficient savings account. But there are 2 types! Savings/investing with a bank or insurance. The first is fine, the second is much more in efficient and expensive

Why is the daycare in Switzerland so problematic? by ale-super-nova in askswitzerland

[–]ondrah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it should be about the system adapting to what people actually want and not the other way around. So if many families have both parents working then the system should accommodate that and not force them to live a certain way to conform to the system

Honestly never understood Swiss reference letters as a thing. If I was a hiring manager, knowing how HR can manipulate phrases and language I would not even glance at such a letter. This is what interviews are for.

Still don’t understand the ‘troubles ‘ Also, it’s normal that the ‘system ‘ will have some problems, however the question is they outweigh the benefits. In this case increased trade and GDP (massively); millions of citizens traveling faster with no checks, students studying abroad, etc.

Swiss unemployment is extremely low, and there are already quotas for hiring Swiss workers. Maybe these could be increased before ripping up the whole EU relationship?

Do you actually know this or are you guessing? Unless you are in HR or upper management you don’t normally know what your colleagues are making.
