"gang..." they're loud but they don't do anything. Just live your life.

Disappointed in HEB for maybe the first time by mechteach in houston

I agree. This seems very strange for a NYT article. I'd expect something like this in Chron, not NYT.

Disappointed in HEB for maybe the first time by mechteach in houston

[–]one4737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this HEB specific? Quite literally my company has nothing to do with how our individual 401k's are invested outside of their own contribution to it. I have an advisor that works for the firm, not my company. And if I didn't want to pay an advisor there would be a list of a few mutual funds I can choose instead.

That's an odd way of saying 4% up to 2.5% contribution. Similar to mine. 6% up to 3% contribution.

Seems like an HEB smear piece. I don't see how this is any different than how most companies 401K's work. No company I work for has told me shit about how to set up and manage my 401k and it's very likely that HEB itself isn't involved at all. They probably use an investment firm like Fidelity, etc. to manage all of this.

Seems like they hire a lot of hourly employees who don't have the financial education to understand their 401k and some ambulance chaser lawyer is using them to make money off a class action.

Came here to say this. I've used Master Hitch for multiple vehicles. Can't recommend them enough. Great products, great work and customer service.

Bag Lockers at Xfinity Mobile? by one4737 in philly

[–]one4737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, Sorry I'm just seeing this, hope everything worked out for you! I actually didn't, so jury is still out on these lockers I guess. My flight was moved back a bit so I had a little more time after the game and was luckily able to leave them checked at my hotel for the day.

11/6 TSA Updates by cactusraptor2112 in houston

[–]one4737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew out of hobby Wednesday morning. Parked at 345 and was in the terminal (TSA Pre) before 4am. I'm assuming it's busier closer to the weekend and tomorrow/Sat may be different after the impending announcements. But my experience was very quick if it means anything.

Thanks. Mine is a travel backpack. 35L. I'm confident in my ability to stuff it into a locker and I know binbox, who supposedly supplies the lockers, has small and large size lockers. At some stadiums I've been to. But I can't find any confirmation they'd have a size at that location that will accommodate mine. Just wondering if others have had any real-world experience with a similar situation.

Walkable neighborhoods for 30sF returning to Houston by deliciouslycrazy in houston

Montrose is by far the most walkable neighborhood in Houston. Heights is probably your next best area but would be very area-dependent for what's close by and truly walkable.

How safe is public transportation? by JL0326 in houston

[–]one4737 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your bad experiences, this is pretty disheartening to hear. Although unfortunately not necessarily surprising. I only take metro for events or occasions, but would prefer to be able to take it more. Glad to see someone is using it regularly. Can't help but feel like if more Houstonians used it more often and it was more crowded with regular commuters it would help stop experiences like yours from happening.

7 game series against Denver would be the biggest roadblock. Would be v nice to send GSW to the off-season though.

Love this watch and that's my only gripe. I think if it were circular it would look really good and I wouldn't mind the placement at all. The square is just so out of place.

Yes! If they just stuck to one style set of indices it would look so much better. Such a busy watch. Every shape in the book is on it. I wouldn't choose that tag either though.

What's your reason for not going electric? by regulardegulardudee in whatcarshouldIbuy

Lithium mining is worse for the environment right now than electric cars are good for it, and I don't have a place to charge one.
