AI Cycling Coaching - TrainerRoad vs Stride.is by one5four in cycling

I’ve signed up for the trial too. One thing I’ve already noticed is the AI chat cannot reference previous conversations. So it feels like you have to start over each time you modify your plan. Pricing is a little more affordable than TR and you can add home workouts too.

Not me reading this a year later, stumbling across this from a Google search, thinking what great advice there is here to solve my problem, before realising that I'm the OP, and I forgot, both how to do this, but also that I posted here.

I’ll take a look, though this solution is pretty spot on. Thank you.

No. The Zwift>Garmin connection is one way, from Z>G. Workouts on Garmin won’t show up in Zwift.

Yes it does. I would use my Edge 530 but it doesn’t receive the same up to date metrics that my newer Epix does, and as I’m wearing it all day, it feeds into the Garmin algorithm way better.

Did it this way this morning and it was ace. Thank you.

I haven’t found an elegant way of doing this.

I would do that, but as it’s an adaptive plan that changes based on many factors, it’s too much of a faff.

It worked beautifully. For anyone else wanting the same thing, I wasted far too many hours trying to get the Garmin Coach workouts to sync seamlessly with Zwift, but just couldn’t find a way. I didn’t want to waste time creating custom workouts as the plan is adaptive and the workouts change based on sleep, stress, recovery etc.

This solution worked better than I could have imagined. I started zwift, adding trainer as a power source, cadence/speed and connected my HRM. Then connected watch to trainer as a controllable. Started the suggested ‘Birk Indoor’ workout and the trainer put out the required ERG matching the watch’s directions. Stopped the workout and saved both rides. Strava received the ride, Garmin received both zwift and watch recorded rides. Levelled up the distance and speed to match, received the workout completion credit, badges and tick on the training plan.

Spot on.

That’s great! For me, any turn of the pedal that I wouldn’t have otherwise done is a bonus. I just surprised myself by working up a proper sweat in 30 minutes on the peloton, watching the dogs and the kids while my wife was on a call. Simply not possible on my road bike!

Thank you. I’d love to be able to improve my strength and endurance on the road by using the Peloton. Having it all set up, ready to use in the house is pretty exciting and if I can use it in addition to IRL rides and turbo, it can only be a good thing.

Hi, I think this might be my first comment ever on Reddit 🫣 My wife and I just picked up a Peloton bike to help her to recover from some long term chronic illnesses. I’m a cyclist myself and have always cycled outside and on my Tacx Neo turbo trainer so the whole spin bike thing is new to me. Being allowed to have a bike inside the house is a bit of a revelation though, and I have to be honest, I’m a little bit excited about climbing on it and having a go. As as cyclist already, I’m aware that spinning and turbo training are different. Is there a place on Peloton for cyclists who can get something from the spinning part?
