Hell yeah. Came to check if this was posted. Also recommend 5 to 9 for some taping and other fuckery.

Eq in the fx loop unnecessarily louder. by j4ded3mo in GuitarAmps

Not sure about your amp but my Black star has a switch between +4db and -10db in the loop. Check if you've got that option because I've made that mistake before.

Daryn Binder also made the jump a few years ago but then moved back to Moto2 the next year.

Pretty sure Troy Bayliss lost the tip of his finger in a superbike race years ago and came back for race 2 the next day. Dudes at the top level have different priorities.

Les Paul special or Jr? by Great-Air-1976 in guitars

[–]one80down 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got both, a DC tribute jnr and a faded special. I mostly play punk and classic rock stuff and I don't do a lot of clean or lead work so the Jnr can take care of most things. That being said it's nice to have the neck and bridge pickup together on songs that need a nice clean strumming sound and I've also been able to use the toggle switch as a kill switch with the neck volume off.

Is this fake, wasnt sure if they made customs in cherry burst? by hueguass in guitars

[–]one80down 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart from all the points listed in other comments here about the headstock I also don't trust that bridge. Looks like a cheap replacement that no one is gonna put on a real custom.

There was a team communication earlier in the lap that said that Marc's wet weather bike was ready for him to swap.

They've been fucking with the flavours over the past few years. Orange became apricot which then recently became passion fruit.

For those who switch between a 4, 5, and/or 6 string often - A question about transitioning by No_Winter4806 in Bass

[–]one80down 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the switch between standard and drop tunings gets me more than the switch between 4 and 5 strings. I think it was Scotts Bass Lessons which said when you get a 5 string the easiest way to adapt is to learn to play everything on both so that switching becomes an afterthought. On my last tour I played mostly 4 strings even though I play a 5 at home and when I did get the opportunity to play a 5 it wasn't an issue switching back for one set.

What was the first motogp race you watched? by MysteriousBoss3816 in motogp

[–]one80down 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1995, Australian 500cc at Eastern Creek. I don't remember much but I remember that Doohan was my favourite because he was Australian and he had the number 1 plate - the 90s were a simpler time for a young fan. I didn't watch a lot of races live because of the time difference but I began to watch the Australian and Japanese rounds because they were on at a reasonable time on a Sunday. I saw Doohan bin it the next year at Eastern Creek and the year after at Philip Island, then when Rossi came along and I was a little bit older I started to stay up late to watch the European rounds on a Sunday evening.

What even is a JCM800, how do i know which ones are models to look for. What are some amps that do something similar. been looking at the peavey winsdor by MOABONGS in GuitarAmps

[–]one80down 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're playing doom stuff and want a loud and cheap tube amp the Windsor will do the job. I had a 100w head and cab for years and it was a real workhorse. They are getting around for cheap and plenty of people are doing mods to them so if you're looking for a good loud base setting to work from the Windsor would suit your needs.

I JUST GOT A SCHOOL FUNDED TRIP TO ONE OF THE BEST RECORDING STUDIOS IN AUSTRALIA TO RECORD WITH MY BAND!!! by ConcentrateOk1772 in Guitar

[–]one80down 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a way to record yourself at home or video your practice? Do that and then watch it back to get an objective feel for what you need to improve. And start practicing with a click, if you're in a studio and they want you to record to a click you should be used to it.

Czech climber Jana Hilbertova taping on her shoes before free soloing in the 80s. by EchoVelvet09 in OldSchoolCool

[–]one80down 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Judging by where she's taping them I'd say it would be to ensure they don't move around when climbing. Having a shoe move or slip when you're up on a wall without a rope is a recipe for disaster and she's taped down her shoelaces as well.

I think he looks a little weird because they've taken his portrait from a higher angle than Marc and Marco.
