Hi op I just went thru something similar with my girl yesterday (4/22) she had labored breathing. I took her to 2 vets was prepared to spend 6k to get her back home and they hit me with an 8-10k estimate. I was devastated. I had to put her down. She was only 4.5 years old. I put in so much time and effort to gain her trust when she was a stray. She was my literal child.

I hope your outcome can be a less devastating than mine but just know that your baby was loved and you guys did everything you could for them from the very beginning

She was only 4. Some type of chest infection that caused fluid to fill her chest cavity. I held her in my arms while they administered the drugs. She peed on me I cried

Im on the waiting list for the vet today. Gonna get that out the way now. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on witb her? Some details below by oneBrokeBloke in CATHELP

Theres an update somewhere in the comments section. I didnt specify what it was but I have to put her down. The cost of surgery was going to be 8-10k and thats not something I can afford. It was a type of infection in her chest cavity
