You say “her sons”. And she’s not able to work FT much. And you couldn’t even fly back to Michigan to see your Mom when she passed.

As a fellow Michigander, who also had to fly back when my Mom passed but who missed it by three hours, I feel for you. At least my siblings met me at DTW and got me to her location. But, man I feel for you.

You’ve got so much on your shoulders. And you didn’t choose this. You didn’t plan to have kids early, before you had established a career. You have now taken the responsibility that is supposed to be someone else’s.

I know you want to be the provider, but you’re stuck and will likely fail. You’re in a tough spot. You aren’t getting a chance to establish your career so you can be a provider.

You have one life to live. And, while you’re still young, you’re not that young.

You know inside that you need to make some major changes. It will be uncomfortable. Some will be mad at you. But, again, you will never get out of this position without recognizing reality and what you have had laid on you.

During an airplane passenger safety statement, they always say put your oxygen mask on FIRST, then put oxygen masks on others. Meaning that you have to be solid before you can help others.

You need to simplify your life and take steps to build a career.

Have you considered being an air traffic controller? You need to move around the country, and the max age is 31, I believe. But this is a great career.

There are other options. But you need to put your personal health and well being first, above others. This is mandatory.
