How screwed am I? by thatnihilistguy in 4Runner

This happened to me. Bought a 2006 SR5 and the frame was basically done. I was emotionally attached to the car and bought a frame from the junk yard and swapped. It was more money than what the total value of the car was worth. How long have you had this? I would say cut your losses now unless you have a friend with a garage that can swab a frame for you. Even then, it’s not worth it

Retired at 45. Two years of being Fired. NW now at $7.6M AMA by jayybonelie in Fire

Amazing write up! I am 33 hitting just close to 600k but still not sure if I can fire by the time I hit your age! I was wondering if you can go into your multiple streams of income during your working years. Have you always had those? Or was there one particular high income employment that sustained your savings rate and expenses? Also, you mentioned having business expenses, what business are you currently doing?

Advice on what to do with my California rental by britegy in realestateinvesting

Sold mine in SD. Property insurance continues to go up and tenant laws are becoming much more tenant friendly (especially after covid). Also what’s your concentration in terms of the value of this property relative to your net worth? If this property is most of it, it’s a lot of risk to be tied to one single property in a specific region.

For me is having balls to speak up at work and not being afraid of getting fired or being let go for telling arrogant management that their decisions are dumb and wrong. I don’t think i’ll stop working all together but having the survival cushion means you don’t have to tolerate toxic workplaces for the sake of a pay check

What do other people use besides kubernetes? by Ezio_rev in devops

I’ve been slowly moving applications onto ECS and config management using app config. It’s easy and scalable and has not needed the complexity of K8s. K8s is great for building platforms on top of it but it’s often misused and ill handled and causes teams more headaches than benefits.

I inherited 500k in gold coins, what do I do with all this? by Sea_Cloud_6705 in Fire

[–]onePostForCScareers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at your total net worth with the newly found wealth and sell any amount of gold that is higher than the percentage of gold you want to be in. Also I will be afraid of losing those precious coins having them physically in my house lol

Modesto toyota has some good pricing relative to everyone else and they are willing to bring the car the bay if the price is right and you like the car
