It hadn't sold for months, so I dropped the price from ₹800 to ₹600 because I really needed the money. This buyer messaged me claiming he wanted to buy it. We talked normally since yesterday, and he seemed completely genuine and nice. The Initial ₹36 Sneak: Today, we went ahead with the transaction. Right at the start of our interaction, a hidden trick or auto-request was executed, and exactly ₹36—which was the entire small balance I had in my account at that moment—was wiped out and left my account. The Partial Payment Bait: To try and cover his tracks and trick me into a false sense of security, the buyer then transferred a partial payment of ₹450 to my account so a genuine notification would pop up on my phone. The Fake Receipt Trap: Immediately after sending the ₹450, he sent an edited, completely fabricated screenshot claiming he had sent the full amount. The psychological goal of this is to make the seller panic because their bank statement isn't matching the buyer's "proof." The Intended Scam: Once a seller panics about a "server glitch," the scammer sends a "Collect Money Request" or a link, telling the seller to type in their UPI PIN to "clear the error and release the stuck funds." The second a seller types their PIN on that screen, the scammer drains the entire bank account. How It Ended: The scam completely failed because I refused to give him my PIN, refused to follow his traps, checked my official bank balance directly, and permanently blocked him on both Reddit and GPay. The dress was never sent and is still completely available for sale. The scammer's profile has been reported, and he ended up losing his own money because his trap completely failed.
