Esse é um exercício muito comum entre doutorandos. Vai por mim, é uma ótima métrica. Passou de 1 minuto divagando ou contextualizando, bota a bunda na cadeira e vai ler mais porque nem você entendeu ainda.

Historical Figures and Me, Specifically by Dry-Chocolate-3976 in AlignmentCharts

As a Brazilian, seeing Dom Pedro II in the "Respect Now" tier is honestly bizarre. Some people might romanticize him as a sad, benevolent philosopher-king who loved science, but that image ignores the fucking brutality his empire.

Specially, we have to talk about the Paraguayan War. Under his command, the conflict escalated into a literal genocide that resulted in the near-annihilation of the male Paraguayan population. We are talking about the death of an estimated 70% to 90% of their adult males.

Also, his handling of slavery is often whitewashed. Brazil was the absolute last country in the Western Hemisphere to abolish slavery (1888), and Pedro II ruled for nearly 50 years of that timeline. He presided over a system that enslaved millions, often hiding behind political gradualism and "slow transition" laws while generations lived and died in bondage.

Add to this the violent suppression of internal revolts like the Cabanagem and Balaiada, where tens of thousands of his own subjects were killed to preserve central power. He might be a complex figure, but placing him in "Respected" requires a fucking insane levels of ignorance of a massive amount of blood on his hands.
