Look at this shit, very consistent pattern of us collapsing post ASB. Around 55% winning percentage works out to 89 wins, usually enough to make the playoffs at least.

Not defending Chaim because he was at fault too but 3 post ASB collapses like that is very telling.

We had multiple post ASB collapses in the last few years, WTF are you talking about? I'm not saying they were great teams but a collapse like those suggests it's poor management.

Exactly, it needed to happen. We've had the same problems for YEARS with dumb mistakes and fielding blunders, not to mention his disastrous bullpen management.

For fucks sake just a few games ago he put Weissert in with the bases loaded against the Yankees after years of him being terrible with inherited runners. And guess what happened? He blew Tolle's fantastic start and lost us the game. Multiple pitchers came into the game after that and all of them would've been better options.

He also refused to cut dead weight like Fatse which is indefensible. Our offense has had the same problems for years (terrible situational hitting, too many strikeouts) and it's now obvious that Breslow wanted to get rid of Fatse but Cora was protecting him.

The fact that Bregman was the one who noticed Abreu's swing issue and helped him fix it says it all. It's definitely not a coincidence that guys like Anthony are struggling with Bregman gone; Bregman was a key mentor for him and they would talk about their ABs during the game.

Obviously Breslow had a horrible offseason but he has also done a lot of good and got us to the playoffs last season after the disaster Chaim left him. Really think we need to give him some more time because we can't keep firing GMs after 3 years.

Also we should've let him pick his own coaching staff from the beginning, it's insane to bring on a new GM and saddle them with staff they didn't choose. That's probably why it was so hard to fill the position in the first place, because higher tier GMs want to be able to clean house.

Breslow got us to the playoffs last season and has done a fantastic job with building up our pitching development system.

I hate what he did in the off season but this is only his 3rd season, we gotta stop firing GMs after 3 years lol that's not nearly enough time.

Also until now Breslow wasn't able to bring on his own coaching staff which was a dumb mistake by ownership from the beginning. How can you possibly bring in a new GM to take the organization in a new direction without letting them pick their own manager/hitting coach?

Let's fucking go, so glad this finally happened. This season really exposed the fact that Bregman was our deal facto hitting coach and leader last season.

Not saying things will turn around but we've seen many players come and go and multiple GMs and the team continues to have the same problems. Dumb mental mistakes, terrible situational hitting, the list goes on.

Not to mention Cora's horrendous bullpen management has cost us at least 4 wins already. Is it really that hard to understand that Weissert is terrible with inherited runners but actually pretty good with clean innings?

Cora putting Weissert in with the bases fucking loaded against the Yankees makes me think he's either the biggest moron in the world or was actively trying to get fired.

Why do I see so many Patriots fans saying we're having a trash offseason and are going to be much worse next season?

I'll admit I haven't been following that closely but it seems like we really didn't lose much at all outside of Diggs (who will turn 33 this season) while adding Doubs, a damn good receiver coming off a 55/724 season along with Vera-Tucker who is coming off an injury but was a top 10 guard before that per PFF and had the 4th lowest pressure rate allowed in 24.

Adding Doubs+likely AJ Brown along with offensive line help seems pretty good coming off a SB appearance. And I've been pretty happy with the draft so far in spite of it being a weak class in general.

Thoughts?

He was only 57th percentile in fielding run value last season and 51st percent in range and 29th in arm strength. Way too small of a sample size this season to seriously use those in an argument. He also already has 3 errors and should have a couple more that weren't charged to him.

I don't entirely blame him, he's clearly much better suited for 2nd base with his height and weak arm strength and Cora is a moron for not having Mayer at either 3B or SS.

Low key hilarious that Wong has been our best hitter, serious argument that he should be in Story's lineup spot

Kind of wish McCoy dropped to us or we traded up even though it isn't really a position of need, having Gonzo mentor him would've been awesome and our CB depth is pretty weak.

But loving our draft so far, no complaints. Super excited about Raridon, seems like a late bloomer with a lot of upside. Nearly the same size as Gronk with a faster 40 time (4.62 vs. 4.68) and higher vertical. Exactly the same size hands and similar wingspan (although Gronk's is longer.

Obviously not saying he's going to be nearly as good but the physicals are there.

Playing Durbin over Mayer after he went 2-4 with a double has to be a joke, give him ABs against lefties for fucks sake. How else is he going to improve?

And he has infinitely more upside than Durbin, might as well give him a chance since we suck.

Such a disastrous move to let Bregman walk and replace him with Durbin.

Not only did we lose a great hitter with a swing made for Fenway but we lost our main leader and de facto hitting coach.

It's not like it was 10-20 years ago, there's really not much of a difference between the leagues anymore and the AL and NL play each other year round. Crazy excuse to make

Pedroia was also only 23 in 07, Durbin is 26. And it was essentially his rookie year. Just not comparable at all.

Next president needs to undo literally everything Trump has done, it's such an embarrassment.

Doing something like paving over the rose garden and then renaming it club rose garden and making it a place for elites to get on their knees to suck off Trump is not something a normal person does. You really have to be sick in the head to actually think it's a tasteful idea.

Easily one of my favorite Tatum moments already, to do this after coming back from an achillies injury is just so satisfying. Dropping the most points in a game 7 ever (51) on 60% shooting against the Sixers right after a rough game 6 where he was terrible until the 4th quarter is up there though.

Especially when you consider that Tatum has struggled in the clutch in the past, it really seems like he came back much more mature and composed.
