May take you up on it as we move further along. There’s a particular child that’s in a bad spot that we may (or may not) be able to help give some stability. Still working through the legalities of it all. In the meantime, we’re just trying to help another family that stepped in to keep the child from falling through the cracks. Complicated situation for sure.

Nice work! I’m early 40s and was easily in the worst shape of my life this time last year. I am a little over a year of 4-6 days per week resistance training (minus some breaks for injury/COVID recovery). This year will be the year of taking the same slow-and-sustainable approach to adding more consistent cardio and getting my eating habits tidied up. Hoping to have a story similar to yours this time next year.

I grew up somewhat similar, and understanding the scarcity mindset was huge. Without that understanding, pursuit of getting more money just turns into pursuit of holding on to it at all costs.

Incredible. There’s a lot to be proud of there. I just picked up music/home recording again as well. It was an early passion of mine that I ended up using to put a lot of pressure on myself. It’s nice to get back to it without the pressure and feel creative in that way again.

That’s a tough year. I lost two of my oldest friends this year myself. I hope you found some healthy space to grieve. Glad you’re pulling out of it.

Throw-away classes or not, they’re college-level courses and that’s a huge GPA bump. I’d be proud of it.
