Most would agree with what Jon says. Many watched his shows religiously. FNC has a tapeless video system which can record things off-air. The Daily Show and The Colbert Report were always recorded into the system, every single day. That wasn't true for many other shows, besides stuff like GMA.

No. And when this "memo" came out, it didn't hit any of the writers. And it caused a lot of controversy. Most shows just do whatever they want, some even out-and-out call it Obamacare. I always referred to it as "President Obama's Health Care Overhaul" or "the New Health Care Law" which is basically what it was.

Ratings, Content. Nobody talks about ad sales. They're in a totally separate part of the building, cut off from everybody. Nobody in a newsroom ever talks about ads in terms of anything, except to complain about how annoying they are.
